Stats don't guarantee the win--that's why we play the game.

Of course, I do think that the stats show how little we need to fear getting "punched in the mouth".

Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

After reviewing all of your insightful comments regarding RA's rant......I believe my original post states it best........

On another note, the two guys with the radio show could have spent five minutes preparing for the interview.  They weren't even sure of Bethel's nickname.

I did an internship at KFAN and worked with Jeff Dubay (did the interview with Coach Johnson) and Paul Allen (radio voice of the Vikings).  Dubay and Allen were both total homer hacks then, and it's obvious that nothing has changed since.  If you want a humorous look at the MN sports scene, check out homersota.com which rails on these guys and others for their lack of professionalism.

If Bethel made it to the semis because they wanted to win, doesn't royalachilles' argument hold that Mount also made it this far because they wanted to win?  I guess we don't want to win any more since Bethel will beat us on Saturday.

LOL, I think you hit the nail on the head there J, there's no sense in even playing saturday and fight through that cold weather ::) Uniforms can be turned in clean then and lockers emptied on monday   :(   ......................................hmmm.......NOT!.....................  :o even the thought of that is scary and we surely wouldn't want to miss that "punch in the mouth" heck that's worth playing on saturday alone! ;D

Small but Slow

Due to responsibilities each autumn I don't get to keep up on Post Patterns much until about the second week of the playoffs each year, but if Pat was to go back in the archives and pull up posts from the past several years and just change the names of the posters and schools represented it would all be very similar to the present.
I hope the game this weekend is a four quarter contest.  Given the history of past contests at this level it very well could be.  Bethel has beaten some good teams to get here.

Ok fans......this is a second call out.

I think a little gathering tomorrow night (Friday) in Alliance is warranted to acknowledge the semi-final game on Saturday, and to discuss Mount, D-III, and even Bethel football over a few beverages.

It appears Alliance would make the best place, but as to the where in Alliance well.........I am still working on it.  Give me a heads up if you think you can make it.  I am hoping to find a place that DOESN'T have that stinkin' krokey okey.  I heard Ric and HSCoach are HORRIBLE singers, but both think they are the "Mount Union" of krokey okey.   ;D

RedToothe, I am not sure who your are or who you are for, but as far as Kyle Lee is concerned, he has had some injury issues, and Bernstetter has been used as necessary according to the game plan.   This plan will change if necessary this week.  I  assure you we will use them as needed in Alliance.  If you are a BU fan, go back to the MIAC boards and join the scattered johnnie posters, you will do well there..  If you are a MIAC guy, we are playing for SJU, Olaf, Iowa, Minnesota, and all the other states that encompass the MIAC..  If you think we are scared of Mount Union, you are wrong,  I know big words, but one thing they have not seen yet,  a team that  wants to play one more week,  not just for the championship, but for the fact they get to be together one more time as a team that puts everyone else first.  Mount Union is full of great athletes, sure of the victory, sure of a lot of victories to come, but this week, this time, they play a team that believes in eachother.  If we cant get it done with the recievers, we will stick it in there ear with the defense, and if we get scored on, we will score on the floor, or through the air.  but any which way, they will know they were up against a team unlike they have seen.  If these points end up in quotations, know this Mount Union, we dont care about your stats, your players, or your coaches, this team got here together, and we will show up and play together.  I remember a SJU team that shocked the world a few years ago, and we were just a minute away that year from beating the SJU team that went on to be who?   SJU did it because they believed, they were not intimitaded, and they showed up,  all of which I expect Bethel to do this weekend.  D3 finaly gives props to the team that I know has the ability to shock even you Raiders..   Strap them tight boys..............

"It's been thirty years since the wolf and the winter cold.  Now, as then, a beast approaches.  Patient, and confident, savoring the meal to come.  But this beast is made of men, and horses, swords, and shields.  An army of slaves, vast beyond imagining.  Ready to devour tiny [Bethel], the world's one hope for reason, and justice.  A beast approaches, and it was King [Johnson] who provoked it."

Royalachillies, if you look back over this board, every year someone posts something like you.  Most of the time, the team gets their helmets handed to them.  I would suggest flying into Canton, it'll be a long drive home.

MUC by at least 30.

cool link! thanks for sharing

I had forgotten how quickly Bridgewater had ascended.  To go from 0 wins to Stagg Bowl runner up in three years is dang impressive.

Early Salem, VA weather forcast: Partly Cloudy with a high of 48 and low of 35.  Just a 10% chance of rain and light winds, 5-10 mph.  Glorious day for football!!!

praiderguy.....this will be more of a 9 PM gathering.  Give people a chance to get home from work....settle in....give any Bethel fans (not sure any are coming other than the horde that is the Bethel team) a chance to get there, etc...

I will pick the spot after further research today.  Thanks for the suggestion.

For the record, I don't get paid the big bucks because of my singing ability!

It's simply because I can see over the window sill without standing on a chair.

Oh, and the "hot tub" thing helps too............

If you guys hook up somewhere Friday night, please let me know.  I would love to BS for a while.  Especially since Bethel is going to knock MUC out on Saturday and this will be our last chance to spend quality time together talking football.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.
