For posters who talks a lot about respect it is interesting how little you give to a team you have never played and happened to win the west region.

At least kick our @ss once before you completely write us off

Freebird, I'm not sure if you read back a few pages or not, but the lack of respect you are referring to is mostly response to a post from a Bethel fan telling us MUC posters that Bethel is a like no team Mount has ever seen before and saying that Bethel is going to win this game because they play as a team and want to be together for another week.  I know I was not trying to disrespect Bethel in any of my posts, and as I'm sure you have noticed, people on this board have gotten pretty sick and tired of having fans come in and talk about how their team is like no other team Mount has seen before.

A lot of the fans coming onto this board and saying this are fans of teams that have not played MUC yet.  This years playoffs that is three out of the four teams that MUC will have faced after this weekend.

Accept that fact that fans of other programs outside the OAC are going to come here in the week leading up to playing MUC and talk some ish and try to explain/justify why they feel their team can win.

This will keep occuring until MUC slips some and comes back to the pack.  It is part of the price of being the best.

Or would you prefer fans of other programs coming here with statements like this:
We might be the best team MUC has played all season but mount is going to hand us our azzes anyway.

Some of you guys need to lighten up a bit.

I did want to clarify one thing, I'm not saying that Bethel is the msot talented team that MUC has played.  That is an argument that can go on forever.  Each fan will have their own ideas on what teams are more talented than others.  But, again, with the playoff system, the "best" teams are the ones that win their brackets...

Toph, I was trying to think of a way to correctly word a thought that was very similar to your post.  If Mount had been in a different bracket, then a different team would have won the "East".  That doesn't mean they would have been one of the four best teams in the country.  When a champion is crowned at the end of the playoffs in any sport, that doesn't guarantee the best team won. 

Bingo.  While the playoff is the best possible system, it is not perfect.  A team can get very hot, and roll off a string of victories.  It happens every year in basketball conference tournaments.  That's why there's sometimes a 16 seed with a losing record.  They got hot at the right time, and won their conference tournament.  Does that really make them a better team than the team that finished with 20 wins in the regular season?  I doubt it.

All I know is, St. John's is the best team Mount won't have to face this year    8)

You can try to justify why your team will beat MUC...but don't get angry when OAC posters come back and tell you that they won't.

So far I've been right a whole lot more than I've been wrong when I predict a Mount Union victory.

Thank God there was not a MUC Dynasty while I was playing only UWL...  smite me if you must but I hope Bethel (even though I dislike the MIAC) beats you..   too much Czech wine tonight.

Hey KnightStalker.......I think you are on to something.......

I think what us Mount fans will do is post "allowable comments on our board when your team (who has no chance and everyone knows it) plays Mount in the play-offs.   

That way when the SJFFan-like fans of the world...the AO-like fans of the world....the blankety blankety blank fans of the world come in here....everyone's on the same page. 

I think the first allowable comment should be..

So far I've been right a whole lot more than I've been wrong when I predict a Mount Union victory.

OAC posters shouldn't get angry when every week fans from other programs come in and state why they think their team is best.  A lot of OAC fans act like the Red Sox and Yankee fans that everyone who isn't a Sox or Yanks fan hates.

Besides it has been a lot longer since NJCU lost a football game than it has since Mount lost a football game.

From our conversation on the other board in case you don't go back there.

I can accept that. You know your team better than I. As I mentioned I have only seen them twice. But you have to admit, Mount Union is mountains above everyone else in DIII football right now. It has to make you wonder how some of these guys would or could perform at the next level. I know for a fact none of the other teams we have seen over the past 3 years has anyone close to Mount's player level. A lot of credit goes to your coaching staff as well. They recruited these players and have developed them
