Let me say it again if you didn't understand the first time; rankings do not really matter.  Bethel has won 3 playoff games earning them the right to the semi-finals.  Teams that are done playing football have no right to say they are better than Bethel--they didn't beat Bethel-Bethel has won more games-end of story.

I didn't say anything about Bethel being ranked #4 or better in 2008 either.  My examples of CAP and HSU were for the final polls of those respective years, not the polls in the following year.  Stay with me here.  And your "Bethel has won more games" theory is flawed too.  When Bethel loses, they'll have just as many wins as Curry.  Does this mean the two teams are equal?  (Don't waste my time answering this question.)

I'm thrilled that Mike Hallett was recognized as the North Region COY for his efforts at the Berg this season.  I'm sure many sports media outlets would see a 4-6 record and fail to realize how significant the turnaround was this year for Heidelberg playing in the OAC week in and week out.  Great job and great decision. 

I know Zimmerman is a great kicker but I don't feel that badly for him or anyone at MUC.  He won't even remember the fact he didn't get the appropriate recognition when he looks at his brass knuckle-esque slew of championship rings.

stop giving me all the attention, Bethel deserves it, game starts in less than 12 hours.     

While I'm still predicting the 28-17 victory for Bethel, after watching the interview with Cornish on nbc and hearing how Bethel students have started to buy plane tickets to Salem, I don't think I would be quite as confident in the outcome.

With the tremendous challenge facing Bethel today, I was reminded of a couple favorite quotes.  The first is from Friday Night Lights, but could just as easily have been from one of Coach Johnson's pre-game talks.

I hope they can get their refunds without paying a penalty.

This is funny.  Mount hasn't scored less than 35 points all year (that was a 35-0 win, AO), haven't given up more than 18 all year (that was a 42-18 win, AO) Bethel scores 30 points per game against teams not named Mount Union, and gives up 17.6 to teams not named Mount Union, but somehow the score is going to end up 28-17.  AO, you and coach Johnson don't seem to realize that St. John Fisher's game plan was to run against Mount Union.  They ended up with 52 yards on the ground...only 22 actually meant something.  

14-0 Mount at the end of the first quarter.

Final...45-7.  When Bethel is forced to abandon the run, it will get real ugly, real quick.

As for the Bethel students buying tickets to Salem this week, I'm pretty sure a lot of Mount Union fans have had hotel reservations for a month or more.  I hope the Bethel students can make the trip, and see Mount Union in person.
