I don't mind Kmic not having a lead back in front of him.  It opens up the field when you can put a Wray or another back in the slot and give the defense something else to worry about.  Where I think Kmic left a lot of yards on the field was that in his two full seasons as a starting back there's probably 15 or so games where he only played one half.  Still, I believe he has a decent shot (if he stays healthy) to get the the all-time d3 rushing record when he hangs up his cleats next season.

Speaking of stats and how the NCAA keeps score...it's a REAL shame they don't credit Bill Borchert with his full body of work while he was at Mount Union.  This guy deserves to be in the Colllege Football HOF.  I don't know that many are aware that he ran and passed for over 200 touchdowns while he was wearing purple.  That's unheard of at any level and should be acknowledged in some way.

Wow, that forcast has changed a good bit since I posted it on Saturday.  Looks like I'll probably be using my hotel room after all.  Even in the cold and wet, I'm looking forward to the game!

Good news:  Weather Channel forecast went up from Saturday high of 35 to 36 in the past hour.   ;D
We won't know the most accurate weather forecast until much later in the week.

There is one good thing about the cold weather...your beer stays just as cold as when you first opened it.

Congrats mount union... i wouldnt want it any other way. WWW is a great team, and with all great teams the game will be won up front on both sides of the ball. i have no doubt that MUC will take care of the line of scrimmage. but just for fun, mount fans, or any d3 fans for that matter... if you could put together 4 starting D-lineman, and 2 back-up using any player that played at Mount from the last 6 years, who would you pick?

Pat Coleman:

Just a suggestion...

I'm currently involved in a three-way tie for 1st in your Pick 'Em Contest.  Would it be possible for you to publish what the three of us have predicted as the outcome (including total points) for this Saturday?  It would be kind of fun to know what outcomes I'm rooting against this weekend.

Here's what my D-line depth chart would be using MUC players from 2001 to present:

LEFT DEFENSIVE END:
1.    Matt Campbell (2002)
2.   Todd Braden (2001)

LEFT DEFENSIVE TACKLE:
1.    Buddy Wolf (2005)
2.   Jesse Wells (2005)

RIGHT DEFENSIVE TACKLE:
1.    Pat McCullough (2007)
2.   Antoine Dillard (2003)

RIGHT DEFENSIVE END:
1.    Justen Stickley (2006)
2.   Johnny Josef (2004)

Absolutely no argument with those picks., especially as I look up at Johnny's playoff jersey hanging on the wall in my classroom. ;) Seems like a million years ago I was in evening classes with Braden and Campbell

As far as I know, Mount Union always has the option to include those numbers in its record book. We did at the school I worked at.

Thanks Pat...Mount really should look into it in Borchert's case.

Yeah, I watched that too. As a TCNJ fan I was never too fond of K.C. He's done well at Delaware and it seems like they have a monster QB. The biggest news seems to be that he's finally realized that looking cool  8) while wearing sunglasses 95% of the time takes a backseat to actually seeing what's going on out on the field.
And you can bet that I'll be cheering 2,000% for Ap ST.  The world would have to end before I would ever cheer for anything KC would ever do. Please do not put UWW or any other decent program, decent team, decent coach, decent human in comparison with the Mr Shades.  Why the word Hades is right in Shades.  Sorry, but the STAGG Bowl is more important than that individual.  Watching grass grow could be more important  . . .

Looking forward to seeing the Mount Union crowd again in Salem for the tailgate before the STAGG BOWL!!  It was so much fun last year and the year before and I hope that the bad weather will stay away and we can continue the fine tradition.  there will be plenty of food & beverages.  We have feard from a number of you who are coming and bringing wonderful things to eat and drink!!  I think the game is going to be an excellent one.  The 2 teams are both really really good.  Mount Union has such a long tradition of winning, it gives the players a psychological edge as they prepare for the game.  That could be all the edge they need.  But what I do know is that they will get their 10 pans of brownies (10 x 35= 350) after the game as they have the last 2 years and hopefully in the years to come.  As long as I am able to do it at any rate.  I'm actually leaving for Salem on Thursday as I have never been to the Gagliardi presentation banquet and I am going to take that in and it'll be the second time for me to go to the players' luncheon on Friday.  I had a wonderful time last year.    I got to meet players from both teams at that function and it was a fantastic feeling for me.  To think one of the players that got my brownies a couple of years back is now coaching in my conference at E&H (Tommy Morris) with Coach Montgomery.  The world is ever changing and getting smaller with the use of technology!!  For the Stone Station crew I bid you a safe journey down to Salem and let the fun begin!!  Probably at that sports's bar everybody seems to end up at Friday night!!! ;D ;D  PS We're probably going to have some yummy breakfast food as well for those who need to be up and on site just because.  I know IM bringing some cheesy bread rings and an apple and a cheery cheesy bread rings as well.  We are sure going to try to treat you'all right!! :) :)

Congratulations to Mount Union for again making it seem like a piece of cake getting to the STAGG BOWL for the zillionth time.   It's great to see a team do something that is difficult and make it look as easy as pie.  It takes fantastic coaching, unbelievable dedication and a team orientation!!  Well done as always!!
