Happens all the time.  You can't react like that.  They didn't call it on Reggie Bush when he pushed Matt Leinhart in the End Zone vs. UND a couple years ago.

In (partial) defense of the younger coach Kehres, he had a legitimate beef.  You can't 'push the pile' in college fb, which appeared to be how Beaver got in for the clincher.  Still, running all the way onto the field is NOT gonna win you the argument, and will get a flag every time.

I noticed that too, could've been called but rarely is.  I don't think it excuses the coaches behavior at all though.  coaches have legitimate beefs all the time, but that doesn't mean they can have a temper tantrum like a toddler out on the field.  Congrats to UWW, and Congrats to MUC...nothing to be ashamed of (other than your assistant coach)  ;)

I wonder if all the MUC fans who post as if a 30 point national championship victory (not Kirasdad) was a foregone conclusion and a birthright have headed for the local watering hole.

The assistant coach is Kehres' son? I guess the apple fell about five miles from that tree!

I'll enjoy this tonight and then buckle down to watch MUC win another 30 in a row...

You can't win them all.  Congratulations to Mount Union on an otherwise great season.
Wisconsin-Whitewater wanted it more today.  They deserve the victory.  Mount Union will be back again.

Pierre Garcon actually got challenged today and couldn't deal with it.  Should have had 2 unsportsmanlikes but only one was called, and it was awesome to see him self-destruct like he did.  Have a safe trip back to Alliance ya big crybaby!! ;D

That was indeed Vince Kehres boiling over on the field after the final score but it wasn't Beaver that got the push; he did the pushing.  It was Jones who scored the final TD.

Beaver has never quite lived up to his hype to me until today.  He indeed played like a Gagliardi winner and was a beast today.  253 yards on the day was spectacular and he really overshadowed Kmic despite his 3 TD's and 126 yards.  He made some incredible plays but he ought to buy some steaks for his O-Line when they get back to Wisconsin.  Those guys opened up some great holes.  #75 looked like a semi-truck in shoulder pads (6'7", 315 lbs).

Just a great game played by two great teams.  Reminded me of the SJU/MUC game.  Especially when Beaver trucked Ely at the end of the first half.  If he would have scored there, I wouldv'e been all over the SJU comparisons.

It's a shame this season wasn't capped with another Stagg as this is still the best team I feel I've ever seen at MUC.  But that all goes away with a loss in the Stagg.

This day was contested by Raiders, won by Warhawks but dominated by a Beaver.  Congrats UWW.

MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

That was far more blatant than the Bush Push. Should have been called, and Jones was NOT getting in otherwise.

As for whether Mount comes down and scores, who knows. But that non-call IMO taints an otherwise terrific game between two true heavyweights.

I've seen it called in an Ohio state championship game. Should have been called there, refs need to grow a pair.

Just like they won't call holding on those end run plays like the one Mount scored on today.  However, it indeed was a great Stagg Bowl game and UWW was just more determined than Mount Union this year.  Despite most people predicting a cakewalk for Mount, it just once again shows that anything can happen.  UWW did what most teams fail to do in the waning minutes of a game to preserve a win and that is make first downs to control the ball.  Had they not done that, I would not have been surprised to see Mount come right back and pull it out.  Both teams were very talented.  Mount had a great year and as others have said, will for sure be back rolling again next year.  As for UWW, a well deserved win in the Stagg Bowl.  Congrats to both teams for a fine season.

Mr. Ypsi

rc, My bad on who got the icing td.  I was probably still awed by his run that set it up!  While you're quite right about the Oline for most of the game, that one was all Justin - he was stopped cold for about a yard, then oops!, he's (almost) gone.  One of the best runs I've seen in a long, long time.

BoBo

Congrats to Mount for an outstanding season and a great game.  Whitewater came out physical and it seemed Mount could never regroup. Now back to another 30 game win streak!

I honestly think when Garcon sat out, he was not that hurt.  He was just whipped mentally.  You got to be able to win AND lose. Congrats UWW and most especially Justin.  I will have my kids and grandkids read his story and watch a replay of this game.

that's actually funny.

And I can't believe it, but I did drink the MUC Koolaid - Looks like I was wrong to do so.

How does MUC's greatest team in history not come back with the Stagg?

Here's a slice of humble pie to all:
