Just to clarify my previous statement:  I was not referring to the entire MUC team as far as the whole lack of class issue.  I was just referring to the assist. coach who probably didn't need to run out onto the middle of the field.  Again, I was not referring to the entire Purple Raider nation.  Also, there is no doubt you guys will be back and be a helluva team next season.

I was at the game today and the posts on this board are interesting.

First - the coach who ran on the field at the end and received a penalty that only hurt his team more. That wasn't the first time in the game he ran on the field yeling at the refs about the FB pushing someone into the end zone. Yep, that's what happened. I saw it. BUT - that call is NEVER made. He should know it as a coach and not go off like he did.

#1 - only player at the end of the game not to line up and shake hands. I was in row 2 within 30 feet of him. He was pretending he had a cramp or something. I yelled that he should go shake hands. I don't think he heard me. I don't know the kid and have never seen him play - but it sounds like he's done stuff like this before. It's a shame. He's a good baller that appeared to have a bad game. Another player (will not call his number) was also not lining up for post game hand shake. An assistant coach walked up to him and made him get in line. Nobody made #1 line up - I figured there's more to the story than what I saw.

MUC cool-ad - - is that the stuff in syringes? Someone had some festive liquid in syringes. They were kind enuff to share!! It warmed me up!!

Had a chance to meet theaprof and exchange shirts. I'm now the owner of a MUC T-shirt. Nice guy!

Dumb question - I noticed at the end of the game hat MUC looked worn out, tired. Because of their large margin of victories this year, was it due to the starters not being used to playing all 4 quarters?

Great game to watch - glad I made the trip and meet a few MUC and UWW fans (I have a nice picture of me and the UWW dance team - can't wait to show it to my wife!).

Whomever gave me the purple syringe of goodies - thanks!!

Watching the game early on tonight, my significant other made the comment that LK looked like he hadn't slept in days.  Maybe he didn't have his HD makeup on or maybe he'd watched enough film on WW to know the Raiders were in trouble in the best of conditions and it kept him from getting much sleep.  Obviously tonight's game wasn't in the best of conditions, neither Mount's play or the weather.  Whitewater's play also had a big part in it.  ::)

Hey, tonight just reminded us that even Mount Union is human.  When you're human you're going to lose every 40 games or so.

Thank you LK & Company for all you do and all the unbelievable times we have following the Mount Union Purple Raiders.

Just watched a replay of the last UWW TD on ESPN and I think Jones makes it in even if Beaver doesn't assist.

UWW got the bounces (OL recovers TD in the endzone) and seemed to want it more today.

Can't say I agree...he was getting knocked backwards when Beaver practically threw him into the end zone.

For those who say "that never gets called", talk to fans of the Amanda-Clearcreek Aces about that. They lost a state championship in Ohio because it a ref had the balls to call it. NCAA refs apparently don't.

CNU85

I was referring to NCAA and NFL refs who never make the pushing call. I don't know enough about the various states and how their high school leagues enforce the rules to comment about a state high school game. sorry - i should have been more clear

I was impressed with both teams.  I think whoever said it above may have been right about the MUC starters not used to playing 4 quarters.  Also they were playing a big physical team that I think just wore them down.  I could also see in the first half how MUC was able to stop most running games.  Their D line is one of the fastest I have seen at this level.  If they get the back to hesitate and have to start moving sideways the line just seemed to be able to string out the play.  UWWW countered by just going straight ahead.

Good game by both teams.

One other thing that stood out to me for MUC.  Number 37 (I think) a DB made a couple of nice plays today, one towards the end of the first half that saved a sure touchdown.  He made a beautiful play on the ball to deflect it.

I think Keith and I both agree -- I know I agree -- that that is a touchdown without the assist. He was definitely moving forward when the assist came.

Just wanted to say what a great game todays game was to watch.  Very hard fought game by both teams.  Beaver was very impressive today.

The only down fall I saw to todays game was Garcon.  He was a complete jerk today as well as he was last year.  He really had to hurt his chances to make it to the next level.  He gets a chance to show case himself, and he acts like a complete ass.  It really is a shame to see a young man with that much talent sabatouge himself.  He got the talent, I just don't know if anyone will take the chance.

I think we did see next years Gagliardi trophy winner in todays game.  If there is a better player than Kmic coming back next year, I haven't seen or heard of them.

Congratulations to both teams on great seasons.

I highly doubt that LK can fire come one on Bowling Green's staff.

Wow what a game!  Good effort by Mt. but WW seemed to be playing in another zone.  To me, the turnovers by Mt. and when they happened was what they could not over come.   The sterling effort by WW plus Mt.'s mistakes lead to this upset.   I felt without the turnovers in the second half, Mt. could have won the game.    Mo had shifted in the 3rd quarter and then the fumble when Mt. was driving for the lead.   Congrats to WW on causing alot of mistakes that Mt. usually doesn't make.  I noticed alot of seniors on WW team both offense and defense.   Will they repeat?   Excellent offensive scheme by WW.  Their passing game seemed to open up their running game.  Beaver gave a performance that may not be witnessed again in a stagg bowl.  A very special player indeed.                       Everyone have a good year and we'll start all over again next football season.

I was not able to watch or listen to the Stagg and didn't know the outcome until an hour ago.  Disappointed but not completely surprised.  UWW is a very good team.  On any given Saturday - you know.

With bits of weakness on special teams and some weakness against a competent and smart passing game, I was still inclined toward the thought that this may have been the best yet at MUC.  A Mount fan would have to wonder how the Raiders may respond to being behind to a team of comparable ability.

We have heard, so often, that Mount can be beaten.  Brilliant.  They can - they have been beaten, they will be beaten.  And, they will win - much more often than they will lose.

It had been suggested that Mount may be vulnerable because they hadn't had to play 60 minute games.  Again, brilliant - however, that was a possible factor; being in less than optimal physical, mental, psychological condition to play 60 tough minutes against a tough opponent.

Overconfidence lead to defeat?  I don't know, I wasn't there, didn't see and didn't hear the game.  I doubt it.

UWW was implored, by their fans, to end the dynasty that is MUC Football.  On Saturday, the 15th of December, 2007, Mount lost a football game.  UWW will now be hailed as having ended the Purple Reign.  One loss does not a failed dynasty make.

Kehres has keyed in ctrl/alt/del on his PRaider computer.  Fast forward to December, 2008.  The Stagg Bowl -  UWW may be there - Mount is there, playing for "one for the other thumb".

The dynasty is yet alive - as is "the Kehres factor".

Thanks Raiders and Coach Kehres for another outstanding season of football accomplishments.
