With a Browns win, a Steelers Loss and MUC 97' Retaining the Title of the Best of the Best....all and all.... it was a good weekend.

I find that a rather disgusting statement.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

nike,
Are you asking about the Empire 8 conference?

Is Pimp related Nick Buoniconti or Don Shula?

They are all worried on the WIAC board that no one is GIVING them any respect. I don't recall that everyone stopped talking about Wittenberg, Augustana and Ithaca just because we won our first National Championship.

You don't GET it, you EARN it.  Keep up the good work anyway. ;)
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Yes, thank you.  I saw it used on here and did not know what it stood for.
Thanks.

27 free throws for Gehle.  I don't post much on the hoops side but your boys are some hackers.   ;D

Congrats to the 13 OAC'ers that made the D3football.com All American team.  Way to represent boys.

Mount Union Fans,

I have one statement and then a question.  In defeat you have once again set the standard of class for the rest of D3.  Your gracious acknowledgement of WW after the game was noticed by the fans of many schools.  Many 5-5 schools don't lose with the level of dignity that you do every 40-55 games.  I was on the sideline coaching in 03 for SJU when we won the Stagg against a Mount team that hadn't lost since 99 (55 games) and we were congratulated by team, staff and fans of Mount on that day.  This year Garcon might be the lone exception.

On to my question.....many Mount fans felt prior to the game this team was the best ever.  If you could, isolate what was different about the game Saturday (other than Beaver), that prevented this team from fulfilling your beliefs about their place in MUC history?

MUC started with a nice kick return and pushed the ball down the field but they were stopped on the goal line and a tone was set right then and there.  UWW stepped it up while MUC remained rather flat and uninspired as a unit.  I said during the game that MUC was not playing as a team while UWW was.  Micheli and Kmic were running for yards and creating on their own.  Beaver was getting some great downfield blocks and the Warhawks O-Line was looking for another guy to hit in the open field.  When MUC had a chance to swing the momentum and get that energy back, Beaver fumbles into the end zone and what could have been a huge swing play just made a bigger hole to climb out of.  UWW executed better throughout and got a couple bounces that kept momentum or built momentum and killed the Raider spirit.

I wanted to jump over to say congratulations to your program from a Warhawk fan. As an elite team in the D3 nation you now have some company.  Also wanted to give a special shout out to the great fans I met in the parking lot (dudes in purple suits, tremendous) Also wanted to jump in on the poor behavior thing. Well welcome to the real world. It's not a tiddely wink contest. We are passionate about football. Ever been to an Eagels vs Cowboys or Giants game ? You'd understand. I could go on about the girl in the parking lot at half time who told my 13 year old son to suck ___, well I'll leave the rest up to you. But naw. He knew she was an isolated idiot. I'm sure there were Warhawk fans who were just as stupid.
Your coach who ran on the feild, passionate yup, I'll take it. It didn't cost you a thing.
So big Stealth love to both sides who bleed purple, coaches, players, equipment team, feild keepers, cheerleaders, moms and dad, etc.
It was great run for both squads this year. Be proud. You deserve to be.
There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

I just wanted to stop in and say that I had the pleasure of meeting some Mount students, had a few beverages with them and had a great time... some joking around about the game but nothing too malicious...  Just a great game overall, and can't wait for next year....

Redtooth,    The reason UWW won this game was their defense made us earn every yard, their were no big plays.  Their pass coverage, like the '03" St. John game and the '00' St. John' game was outstanding.  You couple that with a little more pressure then Mt. usually gets and that is a problem.  The other factor was their off. line blocked the heck out of us.  They created the opportunity of a miss tackle letting the Beave get big yards.  No. 47 for us had not been taken out of so many plays the whole year as he was in this game.  The def. line had a very difficult time getting  into the backfield.  They played well(UWW), they won the game.  The funny thing about the  game is that the fumble that we had in the end zone and lost, plus the TD that was taken away from Kemic(not enough to change the call on the field IMO) changed the whole game.  In games like this when two teams are even, you play hard and often some luck will give you the edge.  Overall the weather hurt us more then it did them. Once again you have no control of it, you got to make it happen anyway.  In the end the best team won.  They deserved it.  It takes alot to beat Mount, even when they are not at the top of their game, and even when you get the breaks. In the end there are not many teams that have the capacity to do this to Mount.  UWW was  one and they are the Champs until next Dec. 2008.

I like to call them "aggressive."  As long as my boy Moran is at the helm, opponents will get plenty of opportunities at the stripe.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

For the record, I didn't go 72' Dolphins and Pop a cork at the end of the game. ....I was drinking draft
