Merry Christmas to all, and KS brings you a Holiday Classic.

JK....everyone here enjoys reading your posts.  You let your heart do the talking and got caught up with emotions,  it happens to all of us.  But it takes a bigger man to admit a wrong.  Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas.

Small but Slow

JK:  Everyone has his own opinions and in this country, in this forum, we all are permitted to express them or repress them however we see fit.  Quite similar to a coach deciding whether to stay on the sideline or go on to the field to argue or dispute a call.  Each person has his own style.  Yours is more straight forward.  Nothing wrong with that.  No need to apologize for expressing yourself.  It should have been taken for what it was, an individual's own observation and opinion.

So Mount lost their first road game since the loss to St Johns, who by the way kicked our butts. Last Saturday was ugly, but hardly a butt kicking. An inch here, an inch there, a slightly different bounce and it was a close or at least a different game. That was not true of the St Johns Stagg Bowl loss. Nothing we did was going to save us that day.

Amen!  ;)

(PS - we want MUC to be strong forever, as you are a great benchmark for the rest of us.  A victory over MUC is a victory indeed.  Good luck next year.)

RT Greg Thomas  Jr.  6-5 259
RG Caleb Crowl  Jr.  6-3 297
C Andy Sanford  Jr.  6-3 272
LG James Bird Sr. 6-1 264
LT Luke Summers Sr. 6-4 284
All are letterwinner's, yet this can change.  This is the best guess as of today.  There are without a doubt some very good so. and jr. pushing these guys.  Once again, as the sucess rate of this line  will drive the offense.  There are plenty of special receiver's and backs from the last 2 yrs.  Plus the best QB and running back in DIII. IMO

Ric has once again earned his Varsity "M" .Ric is an honorary letterman at Mount Union College and a member of the "M" club. Thanks to him,Raider fans all over the world are able to follow the Purples, partake of his insights and revel in the success of the Raiders every week. He's the MVP for fans.Thank you Ric.On a related matter,no one thought the 1998 Raiders would contend, let alone win it all after the graduation of, arguably, the best team we ever had;but they did!LK tells every team, every year, all jobs are wide open,no one is guaranteed a position, or playing time, and the best players will start;according to how well they practice. This is part of the reason recruits are attracted here and morale is so high.

purple, thanks for the update.

Congratulations to Ric and thanks for all you do for Mount Union football.  They should make you an honorary alumnus as well.  Maybe the school could award you an honorary doctorate in football.  ;D

Merry Christmas to ALL (even the guys from the E8 board).

Wow, most interesting.  In fact, I must have somehow missed it, however, it was announced back on 11/30/07 on SVSU's athletic section on the university's website that head coach Randy Awry's contract was not being renewed when it ended 12/31/07 due to some serious NCAA infarctions in 2005 and this year.  Shocking.  I don't recall this being played up in the media of recent, however, I must have missed it.  An unfortunate situation for SVSU, yet if Capital's Collins gets the job, good for him, but a loss for Capital.  Yes, keep us posted.

BTW, interesting to see some of SVSU's assistant coaches - former Franklin College head coach, a couple of former MIAA players Kazoo/Alma, and former NFL/Mich State player Herb Haygood who was an assistant coach at Olivet College in 2006.

Oh, and Merry Christmas to all you OAC'ers.  I hope you are enjoying the day with your families.
