JK,

I heard they aren't going to let Ohio State in the National Title game for two years, even if they undefeated....after the last two years.

I also agree, the SEC is the best conference BUT, last night was disheartening for a Big 10 fan.  I was also hoping to see Ohio State do well...and was excited early.  But, I felt the same emotional letdown that Ohio State did in the 2nd Quarter.

Woody's players were "coached" in the extreme to avoid mental errors - and so they did.

Ralph:
Indeed, the announcing crew for the game was not the "A" team - no even close.  I would have preferred an ESPN team.

Mr. Ypsi:

That was truly a killer.  For sure LSU is a great team (and people can debate that they would beat OSU 3 out of 4 times), however, like you said, had OSU not made turnovers, stupid penalties (i.e. personal fouls) and poor secondary, they really could have beaten LSU.  Unfortunately, OSU ended up having a bad game and once again, comes up short in a bowl game.

im under the impression that the vest would gladly trade his ysu national titles for the one he won as the buckeye head coach.

that lsu team would have crushed any team chokeslam had as the osu coach

does anyone look at hester and see kmic like i can? small white kid with a shiny brass pair?
and we all wanna be like tommy gavin

Ohio State didnt have control over the line... offense or defense. Does anybody believe that the days of the typical Ohio State lineman is over? They may be huge and heavy...but they lack the quickness to control the situation. Maybe the PROTOTYPE has evolved and the Buckeyes just havent given up on the guys built for the proverbial "cloud of dust" game. Tressel didnt have a backup QB ready either. JT just wants his QB to "manage the game" and not win it himself. Given the pressure Boeckman faced, its clear to me that the linemen are not compatable with that style of football. Shoenfelt probably wont supplant Boeckman until graduation and Henton will likely be #2 once he gets out of Jimmy T's dog house. He may be shorter...but he can elude the rush much like Troy Smith did. And given the lines play last night, thats what they need.  Oh well, they arent THAT far away from putting it all together. Now if the NFL would just let us keep our stars until the graduate.... >:(

All indications are that most will be back.  Laurinitis has said all along that he intends to be back next year, and from what I have heard, Gholston is leaning toward returning.  The only other potential 1st rounder on D is Malcolm Jenkins, and I have no idea what his intentions are.  The one who worries me is Beanie, and he might be a first rounder as a Soph, but everything I have heard is that he is coming back too.

In that sense, losing two straight might be the best thing to have happened to OSU.  A lot of these guys have a sour taste and want to set it straight.  We'll see in a few weeks how it all shakes out.

I'll believe it when I see it. Hard to turn down first round money, especially in a sport where your next play could always be your last.

JK,

Save those worries about Beanie until next year.. you have to be out of HS for three years prior to being eligible to declare for the draft.

RE:  OSU Offensive Linemen

Reminds me of MTU after we lost to STJ in the Stagg the year we had Kinnard and team.  After that, it seemed LK went with quicker, more agile OLmen instead of the tallest/biggest variety.

Someone should let them know that, "Third time is the charm!"   8)

You're right, my bad.  He just seems older than a true Soph.  ;D

I tried hard to refuse the urge to come here and do the whole SEC vs Ohio State thing the other day since MUC throttled IC and you guys were all pretty cool during that week.  That said, someone needs to explain this shot from the title game.

EDIT: Not sure how to make it bigger but yes, the flags spell OOHI.  Go Bucks.

JK

Even as a Buckeye fan, that's pretty funny.  Where did you find it?

JQV

somebody sent me the link from a LSU message board.

It is a great pic, but as a Giants fan, I like your signature pic better!
