Small but Slow

Mount had a couple pretty good transfers at QB in the early days.  One from OSU one from Wilma.  Talk about opposite ends of the transfer spectrum.  It would seem building a program on transfers is a risky proposition.  One might come along to fill a void from time to time, but its not a reliable option.  I remember when Marshall had a QB transfer from Florida so they redshirted their starter from the previous season.  As it turned out, the guy they redshirted (Chad Pennington) became a Heisman finalist and I can't even recall with any certainty the other guy's name.  (I believe it was Eric Kressler.)

Ballard was from Wilmington (D3 at the time I think).  Who was from OSU?
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

Small but Slow

Scott Woolf, a grad of West Branch High School transferred to Mount from OSU for his junior and senior seasons.  He led the Purple to their first OAC title and initial trip to the playoffs.  He also had a cup of coffee in the NFL for the Cowboys and Raiders.

You are confused, and this is how all the incorrect rumors start.  See here:

Scheonfelt wanted to come to Mount Union and study under the master, but beating out Mich seemed highly unlikely.K.C.Keeler is a good coach who is putting his team in position for a title shot.He showed a lot of class before, during and after some epic games with the Raiders. He's got a kid who can take them all the way maybe.Congrats.

Huh? Are we talking about Rob Schoenhoft the ex Buckeye and former St. X QB? Did he actually inquire about playing at MUC and then decide to play at Delaware?
Maybe Micheli would keep the QB job and instead be throwing to Schoenhoft at the Tight End position. The kid has the size to play it. How about the double pass play...Micheli to Schoenhoft to whomever. :o Im dizzy with the possibilities. Oh well, Keeler does have scholarship money to wave at Rob. I cant blame the kid for choosing Delaware. Still, I wonder what he would have done for good ol MUC?

reality check

I flew into Dayton yesterday for a weekend visiting the family (and our baby shower) and the first advertisement I see in the Dayton Airport is a poster for Wittenberg.  I know I've heard how Dayton is falling apart but I didn't think it was THIS bad.   ;D
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)
OAC Runners-Up: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2004, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1982, 1941 (Stupid Mount Union!)
MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

Thats how I feel when I see the recruiters from Hiram and Thiel show up to talk to our HS kids. :P
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Guess Hiram is really bumping up the recruiting efforts with the new staff, actually put up some big yardage against Witt in the season finally, even though the defense gave up a huge amount of points, looks like they are on the right track, but they also started something like 18 or 19 freshman and sophs.  So looking good for the old Terriers in the future.

Sect 13........I HOPE you are adding sarcasm on to sarcasm...right?????

Schoenfelt no more inquired about coming to Mount as Mount would want him to do so......just not a fit.

I hope he has great success in Deleware.  The next QB at Mount is on his way unless some D-I team messes things up in the next month or so.

Who is Schoenfelt? My post was abour Rob Schoenhoft. Someone is confused....and it could be me!
By the way.... Schoenhoft WAS used as a tight end in practice by the Buckeyes to simulate the opponent.
I was responding to PURPLEs earlier post and thought he was talking about Schoenhoft.

I think Matt Campbell played at Pitt for a year prior to coming to MTU also.

The LB at UWW (Raeburn I think) spent a year at Illiinois State U before becoming a Warhawk too I think.

If you are referring to this years LB's at UWW,  #40 MLB, Borzick is the one who tranferred to UWW a couple of years ago from Illinois State where he was recruited to play fullback.  #33 SLB Raebel began his career at UWW and was a 4 year starter.  WLB #50 Rindahl also has only been a Warhawk and got the starting spot this year as a Junior when WLB Robb Widuch, a tranfer from UW-Madison in 04 graduated on 06.
