Actually,I made that up about Schonberg.I did come to admire KC Keeler from his games with us.He and LK seemed to really enjoy each other and the games were great.

I think Matt Campbell played at Pitt for a year prior to coming to MTU also.

The LB at UWW (Raeburn I think) spent a year at Illiinois State U before becoming a Warhawk too I think.

If you are referring to this years LB's at UWW,  #40 MLB, Borzick is the one who tranferred to UWW a couple of years ago from Illinois State where he was recruited to play fullback.  #33 SLB Raebel began his career at UWW and was a 4 year starter.  WLB #50 Rindahl also has only been a Warhawk and got the starting spot this year as a Junior when WLB Robb Widuch, a tranfer from UW-Madison in 04 graduated on 06.

My mistake.  Raebel was a beast.  Actually all 3 were/are.

I agree.  The Hawks have been blessed the last several years with, what I believe, is one of if not the best LB corps in DIII.   Borzick and Widuch were D-I transfers and Raebel turned down several D-2 scholarships and DI interest to play close to home! And as we all saw in the Stagg, Rindahl more than held his own having a terrific rookie season this year.

Sorry, I realize that this is probably more info than anyone on this board really cares to have.

Pradierguy......

As you may or may not be aware.......at the D-III level if you are interested in a great player, most of the time you end up playing the waiting game.

Prime example.....Greg Micheli.  D-I wanted him as a d-back, but later in the decision-making process LK advised him that Mount would be THRILLED to have him play QB and the rest is history.

Let's just say that there is a certain Ohio QB that has been recruited by some mid-level D-I schools, hasn't committed to anyone as of yet (as far as I know), and Mount has pursued said QB intensely (within the rules that are the "hands off" OAC).

We might know something within the next few weeks.  If this kid lands, watch OUT!  He is the real deal.

Thank you skunks. I had heard rumblings as well, just seeing if we were on the same page.

Here is a list of QBs from Ohio on Scout.com, maybe he is listed:

Ohio HS QBs
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

KD.......interestingly enough....he is NOT on that list.  I find it amazing at times how kids get rated/slotted by the national scouts.

Dig deeper.....the truth is out there!   ;D

you never know how a kid is going to do in college, though. . . so I urge caution.  Its not easy for these 17 and 18 year old kids who are living away from home for the 1st time, balancing studies with athletics and social life.

Remember, Justin Zwick was can't miss at one point also.  He was WAY off the mark.

JK...not a Canton/Alliance kid...but not TOO far away.

2007 stats

3500+ yards passing, 30+ touchdowns
800+ yards running, 10+ touchdowns

That might be enough hints for you football gurus to figure it out.   ;)

HScoach

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, do I need to remind you that the best MUC QB threw a total of 17 passes as a HS senior on a crappy option-based offense? ;D

Man, I hate the off season............
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

skunks_sidekick

Yah....the only coach that could stop him was his own!   ;D

I know certain coaches' have systems/offenses that they never deviate from......but geesh!  Talk about a waste of talent!

I am with you HSC.......Skunk and I were lamenting the off-season fact just yesterday.

Oh wait....that's right...I forgot to mention/ask.......supposedly Garcon is playing in the Texas vs. The Nation all-star game?  Anyone know of this?  Did anyone see any blurbs about this?

I checked the website and the rosters for 2008 aren't listed as of yet.
