The offseason is clearly upon us.  It should also be abundantly clear from the length of the last post that I have A LOT of free time on my hands as I am winding down the Army gig.

You'd think it would be a lot more work finding a job in the real world, but there isn't a lot to do when you have no skills, no motivation, and no leads.  ;)

This is what I get for my fine Lutheran based Liberal Arts education.  In the words of my idol, the immortal Mr. Blutarski (John Belushi) "seven years of college down the drain.  Might as well join the [bleeping] peace corps." :D

JK..... JT highly recommends http://www.jobsbyfax.com.  For about $100 or so they'll fax your resume and cover letter to 1,000 "decision makers" in the geographic area(s)/job classification(s) of your choice.  The thing is to try and bypass the human resources C-blockers and get to the Managers.

They'll then keep on faxing to 1,000 more until you get a job.  Everyone JT has passed this onto has gotten a gig, including Mrs. JT and Knightstalker.  Sorry for the third person Liberty League rant.  Its how we roll over there.

Definitely check it out.  The Army gig will play well in more than a few places.  Leadership... team player... vet... etc.,

Any info as to the quality of the jobs these people are getting?

Just wondering.

Mrs. JT -- HR Manager
Knightstalker -  Programmer
Others - Management, Engineering, etc.,

I'm sure there's blue collar too, but most of my blue collar friends are Union, so they are pretty much set already.

That last sentence says so much about our economy and productivity.

Small but Slow

I understand this is a more recent photo of the Doeder klan complete with the "flaming pile" jacket and shirt.  It's good to see polyester has remained in style in Berea all this time.

I think its the government, taxes, and the deficit that are the real culprits.

The folks in my militia agree with JT 110%!  The economy is so bad we can hardly afford new camo and guns.

If it was legal to kill liberals and pseudo conservatives, we could probably turn this around quickly.

Why not kill every one who does not wear camo and carry a firearm?

Easy Frank.  I'm just joking.  Unless we get government health care and have to 6 months for basic procedures... then all bets are off  ;)

reality check

I remember when I used to be able to come to Post Patterns to avoid political talk...

Remember when we used to talk about important things like Mount moving up a divison or three, Shmucker's and doeder?

While it's nice to see 4U back on this board, let's not do anything to encourage Doeder, Derdoe, DerDoo or any other reincarnation to reappear

Forget that political stuff, let's get back to those discussions about how we're all a bunch of ignorant clods who got our degrees because of our football skills. (If that were true, I'd be driving an 18 wheeler) 8)
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Sorry.  I'm done.  Watching the current political process that's going on gets me fired up.  I care about my country and its future.

Wabash College has narrowed its head football coach search down to two.

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater offensive coordinator Jim Zebrowski and Coe College (Iowa) head football coach Erik Raeburn are the two finalists for the position.

Wabash narrows the search to the two best Mount Union grads available.

Anyone surprised? I'm not.  ;D

PS I'm pulling for Erik and Liz to move closer to home while their kids are still small

Zebrowski appears to have found out what an exciting place Whitewater Wi. is.

Neither are we.  ;)

Fellas,

Any scoop on either candidate would be much appreciated.  They both seem to be solid candidates with strong credentials.

What else do you know about them?

See that Coach Raeburn's wife is a middle school teacher and they have 3 young children.  Sounds like he could go either way on O or D.  I wonder who he'd bring to join the staff.  They'll have the opportunity to bring some full time assistants and 1 that would likely be his D or O coordinator based on what he'd take.

Zebrowski is on campus Monday.  Raeburn is on campus Thursday.

I think they will dig the campus, the facilities, the staff, and the players returning (43 lettermen return).

Actually, Whitewater was a pretty damned exciting place for the last few weeks in December!   ;)
