Moss is MVP

Eli is a road bump

Can't imagine how it must be feel to be wrong by that much.

Hey give him some credit, he did get the Giants point total correct.

And the 4th and 14, when they passed on the 49 yard FG,

I found this questionable at the time, and the final result certainly didn't change my thinking.  This was makeable for Gostkowski, and those 3 points would have come in handy.

DARN!  Hard to beat the hometown school (if a kid is inclined to stay around the homefront), and Owens is a good guy and an LK supporter so I guess I can't gripe too much that Housewright chose Ashland.

As for Erik ending up at Wabash, I am very happy for him.  I was able to talk to him via email about a week ago, and he was excited about the opportunity.  And to be honest....I like the enthusiasm that the Wabash faithful bring supporting their football program.  My problem/issue was with the head coach that is now gone.....so it's all good!

Let's see......Heidi........ONU.........W & J............Wabash.......soon the WORLD!!!!!!    ;D
Emory and Henry too.

I may be wrong and nitpicking a minor detail, but don't the public only get one collective vote?

Also, while he played a so-so game for the first 45 minutes (44.5 QB rating) with that one tough break interception, it is hard to deny that Eli was the major difference in the 4th quarter.  The Giants defense was gassed after playing almost 20 minutes in the second half and if Brady had more than 4 desperation attempts, I'm not so sure they could have stood up against an actual drive.  Eli, however, led two huge td drives, including an impressive 83 yard drive that took 2 minutes.  I still believe that over the course of the whole game, it was the Giants D-line that won the game (man I'm gonna miss Spagnuolo), I'm comfortable with what Eli did in the final stretch of the game...led the Giants back from behind twice.

I watched Pierre on Saturday. 2 VERY NICE catches (3 total/tied for team lead) and of course the punt return.  He was also open on a deep route that was underthrown.  Terrible QB play in the game.  I have the game without commercials on DVD if anyone is interested please drop me a private email.

The local Alliance paper also mentioned in their write-up of the game that Pierre is the first MUC player to be invited to the NFL Combine.  Not true...Ballard in 1994 as well.

A little disturbed that this site did not mention Garcon's play on Saturday.

Wish they would have too. Especially since he did well. I forgot about Ballard getting invited to the combine. I thought Pierre was the first as well.

Eh well. Just glad he did so good.

They are a little more focused this time of year on basketball but there is a short write-up about Garcon's play on the Notables section of the main page.  I believe this is consistent with their coverage of most of the invitees that have played in other all-star games ala Trusnik, Hostetler, etc.  It was posted yesterday.  Cut Pat a little slack since it's the off-season.

He might be the first guy invited since Ballard but don't forget the fact that not getting invited didn't keep Rob Adamson from hanigng out all weekend hoping someone would listen to his pitch.  He wasn't exactly invited but he was at the RCA Dome nonetheless.

Basketball... isn't that the sport where you can't make contact with the guy with the ball because it is ILLEGAL?

Weak.

Basketball: A sport in which two teams use a ball that is large, smooth and round; similar to hscoach's head (except that a basketball has the word "Wilson" branded across it).

Big shout out to Heidelberg College for making ESPN's top ten list for college mascots.  The entire D-III family was well represented on the top ten with the Concordia Cobbers and Rowan Profs on the list as well.  And in case I'm not the only one who didn't know about the nickname's history at the Berg:

Always kind of wanted to see the UC Irvine Anteaters mascot

Quite glad Heidelberg lost that silly "The Berg" nickname.

Everytime I have to defend Mount's MUCaw mascot, I wonder if I actually have grown to like it or it's just less embrassing than a band member running around dressed like Pirate. ;D

I can still smile at the memory of my brother sending in a suggestion that Rowan name their Owl, Owen. When he was asked why, it was in honor of their Stagg Bowl record  - ( 0 and .....) and of course it rhymes with Rowan

Or Terry Pluto's line about Rowan's mascot transferring from D-1 Temple.

RC:  How did you find out I have "Wilson" on my mellon?  Which is just one of the many reasons I keep it hidden under my hat.  Little did I know when Wilson offered me $10 and a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon that I could have made big money from Nike.  But all I saw at the time was free beer and enough cash to buy a pizza.  Free beer and pizza = DONE DEAL.

Ugh, never was much of a businessman. >:(
