Spence--

I guess the reason that it's easy for Marietta to beat the Mount Union speech and debate team is that we don't have one.

Zing!

Comparing Marietta and Mount isn't fair.  MUC doesn't have a debate team and Marietta doesn't have a football team.

Double zing!

Nice article on Garcon.  The combine is quite similar to a dog show in that most the participants have trained specifically for the drills almost exclusively since their last game of the past season.  We have a local guy who has been working a few hopefuls for the past couple months.  He has them doing specific drills to improve their shuttle runs, standing long jump, and vertical leap so that by the time they go to Indy they are naturals in these drills.  The weight training they have been doing is designed to increase reps of 225, not necessarily to get stronger.  The agent he works for pays him quite nicely to train these kids to impress.  Last year he trained six guys for the combine, all of whom were considered marginal prospects.  Four of the six were first day picks and the other two were second day picks.  I don't think any of them made much of an impression on the field during their rookie seasons, but a good performance at the combine earned them all a shot and a nice payday.

So far so good for Garcon - no obvious major stumbles or shortcomings yet, but we don't know how he played on tape during the season (by NFL standards) or how he caught and ran routes at the combine.

Haha!

I've never witnessed the Etta Debate Club in action, but after seeing the football  team in person, I would have set the line something like:

Etta Debate Club (+1.5) at Etta Football Express

Yeah, not even having a team is the same as just not having a particularly good one (still average, maybe slightly better or so compared to the rest of D-III).

Still was funny. Funnier than the other attempts at humor along this line.

Wow that was about as funny as infant mortality.

Does anyone know if Pierre will be working out at a pro day for one of the local schools or even at MUC?  Trusnik had a pro day in addition to his combine and it certainly didn't hurt his status last year.
I would imagine Pierre would be attending somebody's pro day.  It likely won't be at Mount or even at any of the local colleges around here.  Pierre has been in GA training so I would imagine he would participate in a pro day at some southern school, although that it just speculation.  I know that recent Mount hopefuls have gone to Kent, Akron, or Toledo pro days

I would be if people would stop addressing me and continuing a discussion I already indicated I have no interest in continuing, and frankly has no real further use to this board other than to folks wanting to be jackasses.

What the French Toast?

Neither HScoach nor Presto addressed you directly in their posts.  They made general statements trying to inject some  humor here.  A bit full of ourselves this morning are we spence?
