RC:

I would like to join the others in congratulating you and your wife on your new addition to the family!  Glad everyone is doing well.  Enjoy every opportunity you get to spend as much time with her in the upcoming years because "you only get one chance at that" and it goes by quickly.  Our two daughters are 22 and 19 so, like some of our other colleagues have said, we can speak from experience.  Anyway, again congrats and God's blessings to you and family.

Best,

I actually gave Spence +K for that post.  It was well thought out and he didn't resort to name calling.  Miracles do happen.

Screw you. I don't need your patronizing BS.

Nice back-handed compliment, jerk.

I was being sincere but thank you for showing your true colors again.

I am by no means defending Spence's way out of line response, but assuming you were sincere (and I will), the "Miracles do happen" was unnecessary and counter-productive.  While I would not have posted as he did, my initial response would have been to be extremely offended.

Thanks. This was pretty obvious, and the attempt to play it off no less pathetic.

I thought my response was entirely in line considering this.

Wow, I go away for a week and it all blows up.  I feel for you, Spence.  I don't agree one bit with some of your tactics, but I kinda know how it feels.  I made some immature, stupid remarks about Kehres FILS and got lambasted.  You have the audacity to attack Kehres PERE?!?!?!?!

Unlike you, Spence, at least I made some intelligent comments before I made my attack, which garnered me some goodwill and allowed me to survive with no harm but a lot of embarassment for my actions.

For the rest of you guys, the amazing thing for me is that Spence is a knowledgeable, respected, and pretty "normal" poster in the d3baseball.com message boards (I surf the hoops and baseball boards and make the occasional Cap related post)

Wow, attacking LK... that's stupid.  There might not be a more respected Coach in the State of Ohio (including Jim Tressel).  Coach Kehres is 100% class.  Here's one personal example:
I grew up in the Alliance area and was the son of a HS coach.  As such, LK knew my dad and knew me fairly well as I grew up, but certainly not closely.  MUC recruited me a bit, but I didn't have many conversations with Coach Kehres through the process.  Even though I chose to attend college and play football at Capital, he always made a point to seek me out and shake my hand after every MUC-Cap game, and he always called me by name.  My sophomore year he asked me the name of one of my teammates, a fellow lineman named Mark, whom he was particularly impressed by (I would guess).  I told him Mark's name one time and from then on after every MUC-Cap game he called Mark by name as well.  So, I don't buy for one minute that he doesn't know the names of the guys on his own team, whom he sees every day, when he could remember my name and one of my teammate's names while only seeing us once a year.

It was a nice, relaxing vacation in sunny St. Thomas, USVI.  Maybe I'll try to find a job down there.  ;D

Good Flying Spaghetti monster, I make one TRUE comment about the guy and it's like I burned down his house and (pee peed) on the ashes. My Flying Spaghetti Monster grow some freaking skin.

Spence,

OR perhaps the tiebreaker was end of year record??  Take a look at that.

So then you would be penalizing a team for playing St. John's. News flash, Heidelberg wouldn't beat St. John's either.

Quote from: SaintsFAN on March 01, 2008, 08:50:35 AM

I'm not naming the person I spoke with, but its ok.  He actually knows OAC football VERY well and you are someone that compares scores from 10 years ago and talks in circles.  I dont' think you are going to ever realize that someone else might have different opinoin than yours---and be right.

Not as long as that opinion includes Heidelberg being better than Marietta I won't. Because it's just ridiculous.

Hopefully Pat gets rid of you soon enough

Maybe if enough whiners like you who can't tolerate an outside-the-box opinion complain to him enough. It's well documented that we are not each other's favorite person, so I wouldn't bet against it at some point.

I love that after all these attacks and accusations that I am intolerant of other opinions, NO ONE has cogently supported a single one of the statements that disagrees with me. NONE. Not a one. Zip. Zero. Nada. Keine. You get the idea.

Spence,

Actually, several people have.  Some even trying to be civil about it.  Unfortunately you either don't read them, dismiss them out of hand, or read something more into them than is really there.

Sometimes you just have to let it go and take the bad with the good.  People aren't always going to agree with your opinion and you aren't always going to agree with theirs.  Sometimes people are going to call names and make subtle jabs at you.  Good flying spaghetti monster, you can't take everything so personally.

Me take things personally. Man that's rich. You all get all blown up about things and then try to turn it back around on me. You've got to be joking. Seriously, where's the hidden camera?

Find me any cogent explanation of how playing Hughes for one possession against Mount Union would have resulted in more victories for Marietta. Some example of a game it might have made a difference in. I've seen no one do that and you know why? Because it IS NOT THERE. It's just not. It's a null argument at that point. Game over.

But mostly what I've gotten is accusations and statements of me being clueless, dumb and whatever else you want to throw out there simply because I am not toeing the purple party line.

And how dare you refuse to show proper respect to the Flying Spaghetti Monster (glory to the FSM) by not capitalizing His name.

RC

Congratulations to you and Mrs. Check on your daughters birth. Clearly, your life will never be the same. I spent the day yesterday planning my son's 11th birthday party and realized that the past eleven years (which included the adoption of my step-daughter) were the best in the total 60.

  Have fun with her.

Spence you've name called, you've talked about male body parts, said perverse things, made crap up to fit what you want to say, and basically come with the same argument since day one. Bring something new.

Oh yeah, you also keep telling us playing time does not make a player better. You've really made an impressive mark on this board, being compared to some of the worst posters of all time. Your negative plus 200 karma, which shows how much, or in your case how little, people agree with you, should probably be worse.

Ric

Congrats RC on your new addition. Thanks for letting us know. Good luck with your family's future.

ANy news on who interviewed at Marietta. It has been rumored that Jim Zebrowski from UW-Whitewater was interviewing but have not heard anything solid to confirm the rumor.
Has or will Marietta announce who is interviewing or who the finalists are?
Any inside informatiion that you guys in the OAC board may know would be appreciated.
All of the WW faithful are hoping that we don't lose coach Z as he did a great job for us this year.

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

I heard that the officials at MC were so impressed with the recent postings of Spence that he is now the front-runner for the HC opening at Marietta.

Kirasdad I've heard they're so impressed that they may let him pinch run once this spring.
