Spence:  One thing I am very clear, and very glad about.  My world and your world are far apart.

And I'll gladly stay in mine.

Just keep dinging my karma and we'll be fine. I'm trying to get to a -1 per post average. It's a lofty goal and I can't do it alone, but together I think we can all pitch in and do it!

Sorry, Spence, but I just gave you +k for that one - gotta protect Touchdown Tommy from you wannabes! :D

Frickin' jerk. May Aronson transfer to Carthage.

You might want to steal my guy for someone else's team - if Carthage had Aronson, Marietta is toast! ;)

Eh, we've made the title game on a 3 man staff throwing in the low 80s before...and the Central Region has never won the championship. I'm not bothered.

After MC's first weekend, Appleton seems like somewhere in Nunavut. It doesn't resign them to anything, but just shows the guys have a lot of work ahead of them.

I'm very disappointed that my karma is up 3 points from the last time I was on. It's like you all are intentionally sabotaging my quest to average -1 karma per post.

By George, Mr Ypsi, I think you've got it.

Plus karma for Spence no matter what.

We should be able to come up with 5 to 15 karma for each intensely "clever" thing "he" (insert pronoun of your choice) posts.

Please, there is only so much Etta talk an actual sports fan can take.

Unless of course we go back to the game the Etta scoreboard operator let the clock run the whole 2nd half. Mercy, Mercy

Yeah well, there's no clock in baseball.

Far as i can see, the discussion ceased being about Marietta's football vacancy a long time ago.

Boosting up my karma to foil my quest...well that's just cruel.

What if I say something that isn't clever?

Hahahahahahahaha! Like that would be a problem.

Sorry, was just amusing myself. Carry on.

Yeah well, there's no clock in baseball.

But if you have a kid playing pee-wee the clock idea has some merit. :D

Well in effect the OAC did install a clock in baseball when they went to all 7 inning games. Makes it easier to beat a superior opponent when the game is shorter.

Of course, it's stupid. Not sure why with non-scholarship athletes who are playing because they want to that you would ever want to deprive them of time on the field.

Used to be the excuse was that darkness interrupted too many games. Not an issue now with daylight saving time being so early. Besides, why couldn't they have just moved up gametime an hour?

I think the answer is obvious.

To the OAC board...... I just saw that Spence was sniffing around at the NCAC board. For God's sake don't run him over to us! (didn't post, though-- could be worse). :-\

Given the tradition of the program and competition level of the PAC, if W&J had a 2-8 season red flags would probably go up to the administration that something is awry and the coaching staff would probably come under some scrutiny.  A second poor season would indicate a trend.  I doubt the school would, at least publicly admit, that they would fire a coach for wins & losses, but could find another cliche, such as "lack of direction," "differences in philosophy" or some other bogus reason to fire him.  Not that I can see that scenario occurring.

Me either. But it proves that winning is in fact not immaterial.
I never said it was immaterial.  You said that not me.  I said there are other things important in most schools besides wins and losses.  Nobody wants to get beat up regularly.  So if you could quit being the board arrogant jerk for a second and read only what is posted and not put your own spin on things maybe you would finally make a decent point.  I wont hold my breath though

*Shrug* The point remains: all those other things don't amount to jack if you don't win enough to keep people happy. Winning is what keeps a coach employed at most places.

Football? I don't think so. Maybe I clicked on it by accident or something.

2+ days of silence never sounded so good.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!
