Small but Slow

Winning is probably high on the list of expectations at W&J, and the team continues to win year in and year out.  The NFL fires coaches who are labeled as "can't win the big one"(Tony Dungy in Tampa Bay) after several shots.  Even DI coaches don't get the hammer until some other issues arise (Larry Coker).  I can't imagine a DIII coach losing his job when he goes to the playoffs each year and runs a clean reputable program.

2+ days of silence never sounded so good.

Sad that somebody had to offend everybody on the board to achieve it.

Well, HS track practice started today, so I should be scarce around these parts for a couple of months.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

There is a strong under current of support on the HS football boards around Ohio for Jason Hall to be the new Massillon HC. Also some wacko's like me pushing B J Payne.

Sadly, I really don't think the job means as much as it used to, or even as much as people have historically thought it meant.

Well that certainly seems on-topic for this board.

Sad that the majority of the board gets offended about someone telling it like it is, and has to build strawmen to feel like they're winning an argument.

Hint for the Small but Slow (in more ways than one it seems): I never said that Sirianni should be or was in danger of losing his job.

Or not nearly as important as they hope/believe the job to be.  Massillon simply has a overly inflated value of themselves.  Kind of like the fat chick that thinks she's hot.  It's very annoying.

Or like Spence who keeps saying the same thing over and over, louder and louder in an effort to make himself seem more than he is.  Which is even more annoying.

20+ years ago Massillon meant something.  Now?  Not so much.  Without the recruiting advantage they had decades ago, they can't compete.  The slow, painful death of Massillon might be the only good thing to come from OHSAA open-enrollment.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

The football decline of Massillon also has been caused by the shrinkage of its population and the erosion of its tax base, both of which in turn have been caused by the deindustrialization of the midwest.

I believe the wiggle room between telling it "as you see it" and insisting that it is "the way it is" that is so annoying. Your opinion is just that and that is all it is, your opinion.

Except that no one was able to tell me why my opinion was wrong without inventing statements I didn't make or making leaps of logic that could not be defended.

No you just refuse to see anything as being possibly correct if it is not what you said exactly.

If you repeat over  and over again the sky is orange, the sky is orange... it doesn't make it so.  If I tell you the sky is blue I don't need to prove that to you to make it a fact.

Actually depending on the time of day, location and atmospheric conditions can cause the sky appear to be orange.

Let's sneak over and start using the UAA board and rescue CWRU70 from talking to himself. This message will self destruct in 10 seconds. ;)
