DiRiggi has HUGE arms.  I don't know if he is quick enough for the NFL though.  Anyone know his 40 and Shuttle times?

After the way DeRiggi played in the Stagg Bowl, I'd be suprised if he got a look. Although he is a monster and has the size

I agree though, The Bucs would be a good fit, Florida kid, need a WR....

There was some concern as to who would throw to Garcon during the MUC pro day.  Micheli was not going to be in town, so they were going to use a D-back that had a decent arm.  Anyone know who actually threw to Garcon?

Sorry -- sometimes trolls do get an upper hand when I'm away at the Final Four. Thanks to the person who reported the posts to the moderator, finally, today.

Don't forget to use that link in the corner when necessary.

Reminds me of a song from my favorite movie:

I was a center in HS too.  Which brings back one of my favorite memories from my senior year.

We were in mid-season at the end of a game where we trying to pick up 1 more first down to ice the game away so everyone was very intense in the huddle.  My  best friend Brian played right guard.  He was a great player, but he was nuts and could be described as a "tad high-strung".

Anyway, we all get set at the line of scrimmage, the QB starts calling the cadence and then sticks his hands under the RG's butt.   Which makes him jump about 3' in the air, spins around and pushes the QB to the ground.

Only time in all my years that I've seen both teams, coaches and the refs laughing as the penalty is marched off.

Another one of my favorites is from coaching when were attempting to make a goal line stand in the last seconds of the season opener.   We stuff them to set up a do-or-die 4th & goal from the 8 yard line.  The D-coordinator decides to go to our nickel package and sends in another safety, but doesn't say which DT is supposd to come out.  The 2 DT's start arguing over who has to leave and we end up having to call our own timeout to avoid the 12th man penalty.

When the D-coordinator, who is pissed beyond belief, gets to the huddle, the two DT's are playing rock-paper-scissors to settle the argument over which one had to leave.  Which sends the coach over the edge.

Utilimately he reconsiders and sends the safety back out and lets the kids play with our normal 5-2.  The play ends with one of the DT's flushing the QB out of the pocket and right into the arms of the other DT for the game ending sack.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Your review on the Broncos is a little dated.  Rod Smith isn't even on their roster anymore.  He didn't play a down in the 2007 season.  The two Brandon's are the best WR's Denver has: Stokely and Marshall.  GVSU's Glenn Martinez is already their "small school project" so who knows.  I hope they do give Pierre some consideration though.

And Roddy White put up some big numbers in his last campaign catching 83 balls for over 1200 yards.  While Jenkins has not exactly lived up to expectations, Roddy White is proving himself to be a good pick.  Finneran was their second best receiver last year in terms of production so yeah, they could use some help.

Really, Rod Smith retired?  Wonder how I missed that?  Maybe it's because I don't give a crap about the Broncos?!?

Now that you mention it, I do recall that Stokely left Indy after the SB year and was in Denver this past year.  I also recall Brandon Marshall being described as a "find" for Mike Shannahan.  Still, the point remains, they could use a WR as well.  Stokely and Marshall, while good, doesn't exatly bring to mind Swann/Stallworth, Rice/Taylor, or even Harrison/Wayne.  Not that I am saying Garcon could ever be THAT good, but neither will Stokely or Marshall.

AS for Roddy White, yeah, last year he had a good year, but it's still only a year.  While I agre he hasn't been as disappointing thus far as Jenkins, he still needs to have another year or two of production like last year to justify 1st round pick status.

And, Finneran was hurt last year, of that I am almost certain.

I am not sure, but I do know that Chris Kappas came to MUC as a QB, but you'd think they'd have someone like Harris or even Rocco throw to Pierre rather than a DB

Congratulations to Joe Tait on broadcasting his 3,000th Cav's game. He said in the paper, that Mount Union Football tv broadcasts are his only moonlighting jobs anymore. That and going to MUC trustee's meetings.

Way to go Joe

Add me to the list of Joe Tait fans. It has been reported that Joe is going in for some Doctoring in the not too distant future. Something about some artificial joints I understand. Is Joe planning on broadcasting any MUC games this year or will he be mending about then? Anybody wanna volunteer for a broadcasting stint as Joes standin? ;)

I understand that MUC begins their "Spring Ball" this evening with an 8:00 practice.  With so many starters to replace, it will be interesting to see who will fill these roles for next year.  I would be interested in any comments from folks who may attend the practices on some of the new folks being asked to replace this outstanding senior class.  Do all of the OAC teams run the same schedule for Spring practices?

Small but Slow

I was surprised when I learned the OAC teams now have spring football.  Do Ohio high schools have spring ball yet?

Ouch, an 8:00PM practice? It should be about 25 degrees and light snow. I'm trying to imagine the track meet I have to go to tomorrow. :-\
