Small but Slow

Ouch.  I was thinking it was cold at our track meet last night when I was in between a light sweat wearing a jacket and feeling a bit chilled without it.  I don't miss delaying track meets to sweep snow from the track a bit.

I understand that MUC begins their "Spring Ball" this evening with an 8:00 practice.  With so many starters to replace, it will be interesting to see who will fill these roles for next year.  I would be interested in any comments from folks who may attend the practices on some of the new folks being asked to replace this outstanding senior class.  Do all of the OAC teams run the same schedule for Spring practices?

Actually I posted that story yesterday. The first practice was last night. Tonight's practice begins an hour earleir at 7pm and the weekend's schedule is tomorrow morning at 8am and Sunday afternoon at 3pm.

Ric--my understanding is that Spring ball practices are limited to shorts/shirts/no contact (or perhaps long underwear!).  Is there a certain number of allowed practices, and a "Spring scrimmage"?

Sorry I'm rehashing this topic, but I just found out last night about the good news over on the OAC Baseball board and I just had this to add:

A shame that there is probably no way to separate the boards - he's a legitimate contributor on the baseball board.

I would beg to differ on statement as well.  Maybe he does outside of the NCAC board, but I am very happy to not have to read his drivel any more on the NCAC boards!

I also had a question.  This isn't the first time that the all knowing one has been suspended.  Is there a limit on the amount of suspensions before a permanent ban is implemented?

At some schools they play this indoor sport in the winter -- involves a round orange ball, a floor, a couple of hoops. But I can understand why you wouldn't be familiar with it. :)

Since a Scots fan has visited the board, I'll be the first to ask the question in 2008.

When is Wooster going to schedule a Home/Home series with Mount Union Football to open up the season?  ;)

You never give up on this do you? :D  ;)

I like that 'Squeaky Shoe' sport better anyways... 8)

As a devoted MUC football fan, with a daughter that attends COW, I would love to see a home and home arranged in the near future.  No disrespect meant to the MUC band (which is way better than it was just a few years ago), but having seen both bands many times, I think the Kilts would show us up big time at half time.

That's OK.  Most of the Wooster fans would be gone by halftime and would get to see their band showup MUC's;D

A potential match-up with Wooster, though a nice short road trip, would do nothing for the Raiders.  Why do we want to open the season with another Marietta?  I like the idea of starting with SJF much better.  All we need now is a home & home with St. John's MN.  That would be fun.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

That would be good, but something tells me they wish (this year) they could open against a Beaver-less UWW! ;D

I was thinking the same thing when Wooster had to play MUC in hoops last season... ;)
