I'm sure Jason echos that sentiment ;)

Before I post news from the web, I'd be advised to note how old it is. Sorry if anyone read the post I just deleted.

I can't believe I did that 8)

just wondering....what kind of contract or compensation does a player like Studebaker or Garcon receive ??
I know the big names get the huge Monopoly money, but what do these guys stand to make?  We never hear what the down the line players get...

Good luck to Garcon, Studebaker, and the rest of the D3 free agents.  Would really love to see some more little guys make the show.

I'd have no problem pulling for Pierre and the Indy Colts.  As long as he doesn't end up in Baltimore.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

From what I undersatnd, 6th round picks usually get 60-100k in signing bonus and NFL minimum salary for 4 yrs (approx 300k, 360k, 420k, 480k in yr 4). there isn't much negotiating room other than 10-20k in the signing bonus. most standard contracts have standard incentive clauses built in as well. the signing bonus is key since no player gets their contract unless they make the opening day roster.

Hey all.  Greetings from my new home in El Paso, TX.  This was an opportunity too good to pass up... working at the upper levels of the Army's transformation for pay exceeding what I was making on active duty.  Only drawback... 1500 miles from home.

I want to echo the congrats to the two D3 guys drafted.  I would think that the relative success of Allen and Stanley drafted last year had a tiny bit to do with the fact that teams were willing o give a couple more d3 guys shots.  I wish them nothing but the best in their endeavor.

Take care.  Talk to you all (or maybe I should start using y'all) soon.

JK,

Glad you've made it to the Lone Star State.  Being gone from there for 10 months now, I really miss it.  Have some real bbq brisket and wave at the border for me!

JK,

Have fun at Fort Bliss.  JT lived there briefly when he was a pup.

y'all-- second person plural pronoun, American Colloquial English.

Welcome to Texas.

Travel on down to Sul Ross State in Alpine, about a 3 hour drive for a game.

Enjoy the sky, the stars, and the horizon.  The sunsets are spectacular.

I can spit on Juarez, Mexico, but I can't cross over to go there.  Off limits right now because of the recent rash of drug related murders (16 since January, I believe, mostly Juarez cops).  Appreantly I have to drive a bit up into NM or down the Rio Grande into TX a bit further to go into Mexico to enjoy the things you mention.

Hopefully I will get an opportunity to go to Sul Ross for a game sometime.  I enjoy visiting other D3 campuses.  A few years ago on a visit to San Antonio, I drug my wife to a Trinity game.  She was not at all thrilled, but I could have cared less.  Now that she is back in KY for the near future, I kinda have freedom to do what I want...within reason.  I'm sure she will understand the necessity of spending $100 in gas and driving 6 hrs round trip, right?  ;D

Speaking of the Rio Grande, I always thought it was a huge river, along the lines of the Ohio or the Mississippi.  In fact, It makes some of the creeks in central kentucky look large by comparison.  No wonder we have an immigration problem... you could wade across the river and only get wet up to your waist (maybe knees right now with the drought out here!).
