Greetings to all!

Life without football sucks!

Hard to believe that this year marks the 15th anniversary of Mount's first title. Time flies when you're having fun, eh?

Have a great summer and be safe!

As far as MUC reloading, who will be the WR's. We lost a bunch of them last year. I know we have Reynolds the TE back, but who else? Is Cecil Shorts III still on the team?

Probably someone most of have not heard of.  It seems that there is always someone buried on the depth chart who finally gets a shot and turns into an all conference player.

However, hscoach and Ric are usually not surprised as they know the team better than the rest of us.  Perhaps they could better answer your question... or will we have to wait for the preview on mtunionfootball.com??????????????  ;)

rocco played brilliantly, JK.  At this point with Woods playing Army golf (left-right), having a bum knee and still coming up with the win (even if it took 91 holes), you have to wonder if this is a mental defeat for the rest of the PGA.

But I digress, back to football.

Whats the outlook for John Carroll this year?  Thomas More hosts JCU in the season opener.

JCU has gotten my best sprinter. Watch out for Ryan Brodie from Mogadore to make an early showing at RB or Corner. Sorry the Raiders couldn't get him.

Is there any significance in the fact that the three lowest of those numbers are assigned to kids from FL? Perhaps these kids have been specially recruited due to the College's possible recruiting strength in FL,  have been identified in advance as potentially high impact and have been provided numbers accordingly?

The only guys I recall seeing a decent amount of time that are back are the aforementioned Cecil Shorts and also Vince Petruziello.  FWIW, Aaron Claycomb is also listed in the 2008 Preview as a WR expected to start or see significant time.  But as JK pointed out, there will probably be someone most of us have never heard of that gets their turn and bursts onto the scene.

Cecil Shorts is not back.  He is listed as a Sr. on the 2007 roster and not mentioned in the 2008 FB Preview.

Shorts is listed as a sophmore on the 2008 track roster which I believe to be correct.

He had one of the better 400m hurdle times in the country, but didn't compete later  in the spring season, for what it's worth.

I stand corrected.  I missed that one...  Apologies to Dr Acula.  Please don't suck my blood...

Cecil Shorts is returning this year....to probably play wide receiver.  He was at quarterback at the most recent "7 on 7", but that was due to the absence of Micheli.  A "surprise" next year may be Aaron Claycomb at WR--he is extremely athletic and has great hands.  The Saturday "scrimmages" are fun to watch--you are seeing some new faces this year!  Mount is extremely deep, and has choices and competition at all positions.

IMO Cecil Shorts will be getting playing time at QB this year with the game on the line. This will be like in the past when 2 QB's played.  I do not see it at 50/50, yet that kid has to play QB.  First, he is a problem for the defense different then Greg Micheli and at this time he is the QB next yr. IMO and finally he is darn good.   I was surprised he was not noted in the pre-season story.

HScoach

Cecil will be their best WR this season and then take over for Micheli next year.

I'm more worried about D-Line than I am about WR.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

seems to be the season for finding out who's coming to MUC this year.  Found this while looking through my hometown paper:

Seriously, HSCoach....worried about DLine at MUC is different than being worried at say...any other Division 3 college.  They seem to have the athletes year in and year out at the position.  I'm going out on a real flimsy limb, but if MUC struggles at DL this year...I'll be surprised..

Then again...I don't think anyone on here knows more about MUC than Ric and yourself....so now I know what to pay attention to on ESPN2 next December.
