I'm sure the Purples D-line will be good. They really can't be as good as the tandems we've had recently. The pair of Wells and Wolf was so good ,I thought I'd never see better. Then came Patrick McCollugh and Nick Parr, two great players. All four of those guys will end up in the M-Club HOF.

reality check

Wow I had no idea the CJ/ONU connection was so well-represented here. 2

Badin was competitive at some point?

Did you attend ONU?  Play there?  I'm curious the connection.

Beenhit...your right.I was thinking of the most recent tandems. There are too many to mention over the last ten years.

JK

All this talk of who MUC's best two DT's ever led me down the road to creating the Capital University All-Time team.  I have all the names, but am in the process of compiling the years at Cap and the applicable stats for justifying their selections.  I will unveil the team later, but here is the basic makeup of the team:

2 QB
3 RB
4 WR
6 OL
1 TE
1 K
5 DL
4 LB
5 DB
1 P

also, I selected my choices to coach this team: HC, OC, and DC...

Anyone interested in doing this for your rooting interest?  It really didn't take me much time- about an hour and a half or so.

I would think limiting the number of players to fit the above "team" would be pretty hard for MUC fans.  I would think the 2 QB's for MUC would HAVE to be Ballard and Borchert, but that would leave a lot of guys out, like Woolf, Adamson, Smeck, etc. who have pretty solid resumes.

HScoach

Here's my MUC team based on your parameters:

2 QB = Jim Ballard '93 and Bill Borchert '97 (these 2 are head & shoulders above the rest)

3 RB = Chuck Moore '01, Nate Kmic '08 and Dan Pugh '02 (another easy one)

4 WR = Ed Bubonics '93, Adam Marino '00, Pierre Garcon '07 and Reiko Gollate '97 (Reiko makes it over Kershner, Knestrick, etc based on his 21 TD season)

6 OL = Jason Gerber '00, Derek Blanchard '07, Jason Lewis '06, Joe Weimer '96, Bill Rychel '00 and J.W. Wearley '98 (a ton of great O-linemen left off)

1 TE = Rob Atwood '93 (some great TE's get left off, specifically Brian Tyla and Adam Irgang)

1 K = Rodney Chenos '00 (Ken Edelman was a close 2nd, but Chenos has "The Kick")

5 DL = Mike Hallett '93, Matt Campbell '02, Justin Stickley '05, Matt Domin '99 and Rich Dine '94 (Hardest group to pick.  Buddy Wolf, Todd Braden, Jim Eismon, Jim Frink, Antoine Dillard, Johnny Josef, etc all got consideration)

4 LB = Jason Hall '98, Rob Rogers '93, Mark Black and Shaun Spisak '04 (4th spot was hard.  DeRiggi was such a physical speciman)

5 DB = Chris Kern '02, Mike Miller '03, Ross Watson '05, Sean Moore and Kris Bugara '98

1 P = this team wouldn't need a punter.  Ever.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

JK

See, you could do a MUC team strictly from the last 15 years and leave off a TON of really great players from years past.  Ken Edelman is the only person you even mentioned from pre-NC days.  I don't disagree with any of your RB's (how could I), but what about Russ Kring?  Jim Gresko?  What about some other guys from the 80's or earlier.  I know as a team, MUC is much better now than then, but are today's players just that superior that NO ONE from pre 93 gets on the MUC all time team?

JK

what about your all time coaches for this all time team?  Would you go LK as HC, LK as OC and monty as DC, or would you go Wable as HC and LK as OC only?

reality check

In ONU news...

Jamal Robertson officially made the Argos roster and will most likely be the number two running back but should see plenty of the field.

ONU is ranked 19th in the USA Today Pre-Season Poll announced today.  Some school named Mount Union is predictably number one (boring) and Capital is sitting at number seven.

I'll have my all-ONU list because I love a challenge in a bit...

hscoach--do you have a center on your o-line?  I would have to nominate Tom Bauer (sp?) for that specific position--first player that I know of from MUC to be invited to the Hula Bowl.
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....
