Pugh played in a game, started it actually. I forget who it was with, but im pretty certain it was with Montreal.

Pat Coleman

He was with Les Alouettes in 2003 but I can't resurrect any info out of that season other than him playing in seven games.

Could your OAC'ers possibly put the years played on your all time teams.  This would give us non Ohitians on the players and the history of the conference teams.  Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.

I've actually got the years at Cap on mine.  They are in parentheses after the names.

Years added to the ONU list just for you my man.

Re: Pugh

I went to les all-time roster PDF and tried a keyword search.  Too lazy to actually scroll to the P section but sure enough, there's Pugh's name.  My bad.

Liked reading the "all time" Raider teams from HS Coach, but have to change kicker order, Chenos did have "the kick",but IMO Edelman was superior, best ever at MUC

I've got to agree with raiderpa on this one.

HS Coach,

you have seen a lot more games then I have, but for WR its hard to believe that 4 were better then Randy Knapp. By the end of his senior year, he had grown into a dominating player. just my humble opinion.

Knapp was a more polished version of Jace Metzner from ONU to me.  He had all the talent in the world but could disappear at times in spite of his athleticism.  I know I didn't see a ton of him, but I read on here about numerous occasions where he dropped the routine catches to move the ball but made the spectacular catches that most wouldn't.

The reason I use Metzner as a comparison from what I know is that Jace could dominate a game and then disappear for weeks.  He had 310 yards and 256 yards receiving in two games in the 2001 season and despite his 566 yards in those 2 games, he still netted just shy of 1000 on the season.  But if you saw either of those two games, you'd swear he was unstoppable.

And when you're compiling an all-time roster for a school that has ridiculous amounts of talent in its recent history, a guy who drops the routine passes or disappears in spite of great talent, will lose out to the guy who makes those catches and has almost nearly as much talent.  Just MHO.

Randy Knapp had one drop that is hard to forget, yet if somehow he catches THAT pass....how much higher up the list does he rise? His senior year he was as good as there has been, IMHO. I still got the biggest kicks out of Ed (THE PLAGUE) Bubonics beating all those DBs deep. Good hands and feet! Yet if you had to take JUST ONE receiver out of all of them, like him or not, Garcon is hard to pass up.

I suggest that Image Video compile a "Best Of" series for the MUC faithful. Each position broken down into the stars of their respective eras. A little something to get us through the offseasons. If it works for the NFL...it will work for MUC ;) History like this needs to be chronicled. Somebody! Get me Ken Burns number!

I think Boubonics is probably in the top 2 at WR at MTU.  He would have gotten a look from the NFL if he played in more contemporary times.  Back then (1993) there was such a stigma against DIII players.  He used to take that WR middle screen to the house all the time.

My gut tells me that in the 70s there was a higher percentage of DIII players in the NFL than there is today. As I recall, the NFL team with which I am most familiar had at least 3 DIII players on its game day roster for a period or periods during the 70s. I doubt that today any single NFL team ever has more than one.

No doubt Knapp was a dominating player, but I can't include him in the all-time list.   Reiko was a faster version of Knapp with PERFECT hands and without the goofiness or attitude.

In my opinion, Darin Kershner would make the team before Knapp. In fact, I waffled a bit between Reiko and Darin before I posted my list.  Kershner gets bonus points in my book for being one of the toughest SOB's I've ever seen by playing thru injuries at a very high level.  Tom Manning comes to mind here too.

What made me pick Reiko over Darin was pure physical ability.

Hey, is Chenos gets in because he had "The Kick", shouldn't Adam Irgang get in because he had "The Catch." Without him we might still be playing JCU in overtime.  ;)

Just kidding, because any position where you have only one pick, is going to be tough. Adam will always be my own personal favorite.
