In past years, after graduating great senior lineman,I would inquire of the coaches if they were concerned about finding good replacements? They always laughed and laughed.I stopped asking. On another note, any MUC grads visiting the Alliance area ought to take a walk around the campus,it's absolutely beautiful.

Mount Union got tired of winning the OAC so they left for the HCAC to see if they could knock off the defending champion Franklin Squad!!!

What???

I'd imagine that 9 OAC schools are rejoicing that MUC has joined the HCAC. :D

(I'd assume that means you'll have to beat Mount St. Joseph?)

I'll be looking forward to chatting w/ you Mount Union guys on the HCAC board now.  I guess we'll see who the true Mount is in Ohio now :D
In regards to Mount Union's Oline situation.  Doesn't the 2nd & 3rd team lineman get plenty of game experience during the blowouts?  I would assume this helps them prepare for the following season when seniors graduate.
Way back when in 97 when we played Mount Union in a hard fought battle (I think it was 68-0) I think I saw 3 different #14's get game time action.

UH HUH. And that is exactly why it is not wise to"keep it close" for the sake of the impression of sportsmanship. There is no substitute for on the job training. Freshman and Sophomore journymen are a real blessing in the long run. I know there is 2 sides to the issue....I like it just the way it has been lately. Score early and often and get the backups some game time experience. I still say that the only real harm to the method is that kids like Kmic and Michele dont get the awards they probably could because they exit the game in the first half and the yardage is racked up by backups. Both of those guys could be canidates for POY and lose out to someone else purely on stats.

According to colts.com Pierre has a hamstring injury and might not see any action in the next preseason game--real injury? or gamesmanship? (He was pretty impressive against the Washington preseason team)

Due to the billions bet on football, the NFL polices injury reports like nobody's business.  Of course, that may or may not apply to preseason game reports.

Best of luck to Coach Kehres and team in their new conference in Indiana.
Will we read next that Mount Union changes their name to Purple Hoosiers?  ::)

Is inappropriate to ask,Ric,how you voted?Personally,WWW would have been my No.1.as defending Champs and ,frankly, because the way they handled us in the fourth quarter. What process do you go through?I do not mean to pry if it's not cool.Thanks.

Looks like good news for the Crusaders as word has it that Derrick Alexander is eligible to play this season after missing all but a few plays of last year, which would have been his senior year.  It also looks like Evan Blake, who became the top wideout for Cap when Alexander went down last year until he got hurt, is healthy again.

On defense, it appears Eric Andriacco has gotten another year of eligibility as well after being hurt last year.  That gives Cap four "returning starters" (All three from last year and Andriacco from the year before) to fill three LB positions.  Now if they can find a few corners and a couple of DE's, we'll be set.
