Congratulations Pierre

I'm waiting to see your first NFL end zone pose.

Kirasdad: I teach basically the same classes plus newly state mandated personal financial literacy course. We have always done weekly eligiblity. One failure or two borderline failures and your out for the week.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

We also have the state mandated reading.  If a students Fails (score a 1 out of 5) on the FCAT (Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test) Reading he/she has to take TWO reading classes and does not get to take elective classes.

Our school also has a modified block schedule.  On Tue.-Wed.-Thur. we have Four 80 minute periods instead of Six 50 minute periods.  So if a kid has a double reading block they are in the same reading class for 160 minutes straight.  I am glad I am not an intesive reading teacher.

left at halftime yesterday, but Mount JV's were up 21-0 on Waynesburg with one beauty called back...looked like a couple nice receivers, linebackers and small mobile QB's....
My scouting lack of expertise does not allow me to comment on linemen...

Yippee, it's football season.  Don't forget to have your Pick-Em's posted by Saturday at noon.

Congrats to Garcon on making the opning day roster!

Did anyone attend the W&J scrimmage? How did the team fare?

I didn't attend but have a couple of players in class--as you know they don't keep score, but apparently we scored seven times and they scored twice--It was said that Micheli was in mid season form.

That's all I've got.

Congrats Pierre!!
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

Way to go Pierre!  Keep on moving up!  :D

Happy for Pierre as well.  Colts don't currently have an identified punt returner on their depth chart.  I hope that they are seriously considering Garcon for that spot.

On another note....

Upon reviewing the ONU Freshman roster, there is a definite out-of-state presence this year.  11 recruits from Florida including plenty of skill guys who presumably bring a certain level of speed.  There's a freshman WR on the varsity roster from NC who (after a little research) appears to have at one time been headed to App State and originally resides from Michigan where he was a quarterback for Petroskey HS.  And there's another newcomer at WR worth mentioning named Ro Grisgsby.  He could be a huge catch for the Polar Bears given his athleticism and previous experience at the Division I level (Kansas St).

Additionally, the freshman roster boasts talent from Michigan, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Indiana, North Carolina and the aforementioned Florida.  And the most interesting story on the roster might be that of freshman quarterback Anders Hermodsson (6'4", 205) who comes to ONU from Sweden where he was the quarterback for some sort of Swedish national youth team apparently.

Just some interesting finds that mean just about nothing at this point but I am already chomping at the bit for the season to start...

RC,

Wow, you obviously have some extra time on your hands.  Shouldn't you be re-painting the bathroom or something?

We haven't started our season yet here in AZ.  My freshmen play their first game Wednesday and the first varsity game is Friday night so this was the ONE perfect weekend for Saturday football watching.  From here on out, I'll have my own coaching Wednesday nights, in the box on the headset Friday nights, breaking down films all day Saturdays and the normal practice regiment the rest of the week.  And no pro ball to watch today made me desperate for some football activity today.

There's not a better room in the world to paint brown and yellow than a bathroom.  What do ya want from me???  ;)

I know we don't know names thus far, but do you remember any of the #'s of the WR's that impressed you?

RC  We will know soon enough about your bears and all the new talent.  They come to Mt. on sept. 20 for a night game at Kehres field.  Sounds like this could be another barn burner.    Also congrats to PG on making the Colts.  If he can take the hits, he should do well in the Pros.

It looks like our WDPN broadcasts will be on the internet this year via the MUC website.  Link should be up and running in a few days.  Thereby giving Raider fans another option than the college kids on WRMU.

Now the rest of the world can finally experience a 3 hour dose of The Ric like I've had to endure for the last few years ::)

725 students in the Mount Union freshman class. There were barely 1100 on the whole campus when I first showed up in the fall of 1966. Guess we have to keep up with the Wisconsin schools. lol The economy must not be that bad.  8)

BTW Have great Labor Day
