BW lost to Franklin?  Who the heck is Franklin?

???  ???  ???  ???

The Franklin Grizzlies are a team from Franklin, Indiana who has recently burst onto the national stage with a VERY high-octane offense, and are currently ranked 19 on the D3football.com top 25 poll.  I know that NCC played and defeated Franklin in both the 2002 and 2003 non-conference regular seasons, before either team was known nationally.  NCC also played and defeated Franklin in the opening round of the playoffs last season 44-42 on a last second 19 yard touchdown pass from Fanthrope to Hlavac.  They really gave us a run for our money.  That was Franklin's first trip to the NCAA playoffs.  I also believe that they should be even more solid this year, as they return 16 starters from last year's team.
I am a NATIONAL Champion, and I refuse to lose!

I am pretty sure Kirasdad was being facetious in wondering who is Franklin. He knows who they are in the literal sense of the word. Seems the power zones have changed and the once mighty flaming pile is now below some basketball school from indiana.  ;D :o 8)

I will say Franklin's qb is the real deal.

For all of you Cap fans and alumni, here's a cool site for the football team.

It has some pretty cool videos also.

One more thought on the SJF game...to kick a FG when your down 33-0 is spineless football. Say what you want folks but it just is.

That makes no sense to me whatsoever. What's the rationale behind saying that? I have no dog in this fight but I honestly don't know what's wrong w kicking a fg in a football game. I also wasn't there. Sorry for my ignorance

I was there and i thought the Fisher coach just wanted to be something on the board.  The phantom interference calls helped get them close and so .............. Oh well who really knows.

I'd like to get my kicker as much work as possible in case I need a big field goal from him against Ithaca, Hartwick or Salisbury.

We played tough, but they were just bigger than us on the line.  I got to get my QB (all 5'0") out of there so he can throw the ball.

Good thing is the kids played hard and never gave up.  Only one penalty was when we tried to go on a count of two and our LT moved.  The opposing coach actually put his starting DL back in when we were driving to try to preserve the shutout but we scored on their asses anywy.

Good learning experience for the team and me.

Makes total sense to me too.  If the kid can kick one against Mount Union, it helps his confidence down the road when they need one.  Sounds like good coaching from SJF.  They are a good team and should only get better after last weekend's game.

I'm just glad SJF didn't score right at the end after the fumble and face mask penalty set them up at the 15 yard line.  Any points there completely kill my spread! ;D

I know this has little (nothing) to do with football, but I offer it as inspiration to the Hirams of the world, that despite their record things could be worse:

Slovakia routs Bulgaria 82-0 in women's hockey

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia (AP) — With more goals than minutes in the game, Slovakia's women's ice hockey team claimed an amazing 82-0 victory over Bulgaria in Olympic qualifying.

Slovakia outshot the Bulgarians 139-0 during the 60-minute game, played in Latvia. The margin of victory is a record for a women's International Ice Hockey Federation-sanctioned event.

Bulgaria was eliminated after scoring one goal and giving up 192 in the tournament.
