Watched the game on TV replay.   Announcers  were from BW?    Game played better on mute.

I was actually enjoying them.  Comic relief.  My favorite was when BW was on the doorstep and the guy matter-of-factly said "Before the Jackets answer with a TD of their own..." followed immediately by a fumble into the endzone and Raider recovery.

A few quick thoughts on the game:

-Boy is Cecil fluid.  Smooth.  Whatever word you want to use.  It just looks effortless for him.  (Also laughed when the announcer said something like "He's fast.  He should think about running track.")

-I only saw a couple games last year, but for some reason I found myself more impressed with Micheli's arm than before.  I kept thinking it looked like he was putting good zip on it Saturday.

-Chad Reynolds made a couple nice grabs.  I was a little concerned about the WR corps, but it has been excellent thus far.  Vince is a very solid 2nd option as well as a very nice punt return guy.  And Reynolds looks like a capable TE.

-I was impressed with Roger Stewart on D.  He seemed like he was always around the ball.  I thought Matt Williamson and Joe Millings played well also.

Yes they were B-W announcers.

I LOVED when the "color guy" said something about Kmic being "frustrated" about not having room to run.   Ummm...?????   :o

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this game was already scheduled prior to the new deal Mount has with STO.  We will get Joe Tait for the remaining Mount games (I think).

You are correct that the BW game was scheduled to be broadcast before the STO deal.  And I definitely hope you're correct about Joe Tait.

From the Mount Press release::

It was Baldwin-Wallace's worst home loss since Finnie Stadium opened in 1971.

It's also B-W's home game and they get to pick, no?

I've noticed the quality of the STO broadcasts varies significantly based on whose home game it is.

I think it has more to do with LK wanting a young offense (especially the line) to be as ready for Capital as possible.   If Kmic is getting the ball late in the 3rd quarter against Marietta or Wilmington, then they're record hunting.

Sure enough....Kmic does not have a carry against the Pios or Quakers in the 4th qtr from the past three years.

I was expecting Kmic to have bigger numbers against these two schools:

Wilma
'07   10 for 85 yds
'06   13 for 74
'05    shut him down....ok, Kehres had not introduced Nate to the OAC yet.

Etta
'07    11 for 39 yds
'06    24 for 176
'05    9 for 61 ....introduced, and the rest is history.

Begs the question...who are the teams that Nate is racking up the yardage?  With over 100,00 yards rushing, he's got to have huge numbers against some teams.

I know one area you can look at quickly to see how he has piled up the rushing yards...  His rushing yards in playoff games is unbeliveable.

He and the MUC Oline lit up Wheaton in 2006.   :-[  29 carries for 294 yards in 2006!  I guess one can gain some solice in that Wheaton wasn't the only team to feel this pain.

He does well against BW.  He had well over 200 yards on Sat.  And I think he ran well last year against them.

Senior quarterback Greg Micheli missed on his first two pass attempts and then was nearly perfect, completing 13 of 16 tosses in the game for 275 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.  Micheli has thrown 12 touchdowns without being intercepted this season and will enter next week's contest against nationally ranked Capital with a quarterback rating of 237.36 Are you kidding me? He's mechanical, eh?

I think Nate has over 700 yards in three games vs. St. Johns Fischer College.

Yes it was BW's worst home loss but only because LK called off Gary Smeck and the boys when they had the hot dogs down 41-0 at halftime Gary's senior year.

HS Coach: Good work!

Nate: Nice Stats!

Nate has a total of 2724 yards during the playoffs for an average of 181.6 per game rushing....against the best teams in the country.

I was not suprised by his lesser rushing games versus traditionally "weaker" programs either....

It makes sense when Mount is up big on someone to pull him during the 1st or 2nd quarter.

I don't want to say someone is "owed" something but for all the times Nate has been pulled at half, I hope he does smash all the records.  I'm guessing Mr. Bowers played full games during his career.

Just playing devil's advocate: on the other hand, did Mr. Bowers have the opportunity to add 2724 yards to his total in playoff games?

Being on a juggernaut is both a blessing and a curse for individual stats - you may get pulled earlier, but you play a LOT more games. ;)
