They win a few games and now, all of a sudden, the supporters come out of the woodwork...

OldOtter,

From the longest tenured Cap poster, welcome.  Stick around, you'll have fun.

Unfortunately, I can't agree with hscoach.  I hope the Otters are 7-1 when they play MUC and 7-2 when they leave.

If your email address is who you are, you aren't just a "past player" at OTT, you were one of the best they ever had.

JK-

thanks for the welcome. i've always enjoyed reading everything on the d3football website over the years and never realized that there was a board you could post on. prolly better that i didn't post on it while still a player. kind of nice to keep track of the cards from the stands rather than blowing out another knee!  i do miss it though.

i was wondering, i played ball with R Smith when he was at OC my frosh year. Great ball player. how is the cap secondary doing without him back there.  i know they lost a lot this past season with Coleman and Starks leaving. i went to hs with stimmel and have been happily surprised with how well he's played this season.

i'm looking forward to the game down at Cap. always a great rivalry. otterbein is a completely different team this year and i think the game will be a close one just as it has been the last few seasons.

JK

I think Ronnie Smith being out is a big reason why Shorts had over 200 yards receiving in the MUC game last week.  I don't think it would have made a huge difference in the outcome of the game overall, but Smith was Cap's best chance to cover Shorts.

Starks and Coleman preceeded by the Hausler's was a nice run in Cap's secondary.  It was due for a half-step back after losing those guys.  You are right about Stimmel...pleasant surprise.  Evan DeLuca has been a bit of a surprise too.

I'm just glad Cap is relevant again.  When I was there we were terrible.  After a 5-5 season my frosh year in 93 (which affirmed my belief that Cap was an up and comer in the OAC, which is a big reason why I went there), we bottomed out at 2-8, 1-9, and 1-9 from 94-96.  Then Jim Collins came in and turned it around.  Hopefully Coach Bickel can keep it going. I think he can.  He's a super guy and a great coach.

I believe it was during the Smeck at QB days that  a kid tried to transfer from Michigan State by way of Notre Dame to D3 and LK took a pass on him. Turned out the kid was a winner and lead his team to the Stagg Bowl. Of course he lost...to MUC...but the kid had a real cannon. If LK passed on him, then I can see Heller getting passed over too. Especially with all the baggage. But I would love to see the kid play someday. Talent is talent. You have to appreciate it. Still I dont relish the thought of MUC having their own version of T.O.

If Micheli cant get POY there is still that trophy for best Athlete Scholar. I cant remember what its called. Is that awarded only at D1 level only? I hope not. Let Micheli win for Scholarship and Kmic for POY! What a sweep! It will go great with the Championship trophy! :)

I'll second that.

Seventies, good luck with the surgery.  Try not to be too much of a dirty old man with the nurses.

Best wishes seventies.  Hope all goes well.  Try to keep your requests for sponge baths to a minimum...those nurses have other patients!

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

The nurses will be scared of the sponge bath because seventies has "Old Balls!"  LOL

kirasdad,

Nice "Big Daddy" reference there... +K

Seventies,

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

The last surgery I had... I woke up to my girlfriend laughing hysterically.  I guess when I was "coming to" I was telling her and the nurse my plans to buy an island somewhere.
