Thanks for all the well wishes, both from many of you on this board and many of you who stopped by the south wall to say Hi yesterday. It was good day to visit. Sorry I didn't have time to catch up with Coach Mike but I had a band show to announce in Rittman. So whacked out about this surgery I stumbled all of the script,  annoucing that the band would play that Ohio State favorite "Hang on Snoopy"

See y'all later in the week, although I may be reporting in from the "Land of the Morphine Button."
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

JK just for the record  how many turnovers?
Count them with me...

INT (1)
INT (2)
Fumble (3)
INT (4)
Fumble (5)
Fumble (6)
INT (7)
INT (8 )
Fumble (9)

15 offensive series for Cap and...
NINE FREAKING TURNOVERS!!!!!!!!!!

JK,

I'm not sure what you're upset about.  9 of 15 is a pretty good completion percentage.  ;)

I had set the TiVo to record the Cap/JCU game figuring it would a great game and would give me something to watch Sunday afternoon instead of the Browns. >:(.  Then after reading the game stories Saturday night, I had to watch it simply for the train wreck effect.  I knew going in it was going to be ugly for Cap, but I was shocked at how bad the Capital offense played.  Yikes, that was even uglier to watch than I thought it would be.  I hope Scafe sends them a "thank you" card after that one.

With Cap apparently pissing away their season at John Carroll, I really, REALLY have to pull for Otterbein to win this week and head into week 8 undefeated.  A 9-1 OAC team is a lock for the playoffs.  8-2 is a maybe.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I will be pulling for the OTTERS in this one. This is usuallly a tough game, no matter what the records are. I believe it is the first time, at least in recent years that the OTTERS go in with the best record at game time. The offense has been a little inconsistant the last couple of games, but still putting up 30+ in both. The D putt up three scoreless quarters last week and I believe they will be ready this coming week. If the O comes to play, I think the OTTERS win this one convincingly. GO OTTERS.

JK did you say nine...there is only on reason you have 9 turnovers and that is lack of focus.  I could understand in the 90's Cap getting beat badley because there were many other factors that hindered the success of the program but this is unacceptable!  NINE.  Are you kidding me?  You are playing a night game vs. a 4-1 team with playoff implications on the line and they lay an egg...it just goes to show how valuable senior leadership is.  With this team being so young they need someone to step up right now or it will be a long day vs. the Otters.

What's the status for Assman (Oss'-mon) this week??

obviously JK could not find any sharp objects to end the misery...Oh he did??? he must have got a case of the "Caps" and dropped them....

Toph

Possibly the ugliest win in football history...but I'll take it.

Hats off to the Capital defense for playing one hell of a football game.  They were put in tough spots throughout and played out of their minds.

Now, if JCU can force 18 turnovers against Mount, they might have a shot.

JK

Toph,

Congrats to your Blue Streaks on the win.  They played a heck of a game and did what they needed to....

Oh, who am I kidding...

JCU won because Cap committed NINE FREAKING TURNOVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good lord in heaven, what in the HE**.  NINE FREAKING TURNOVERS!!!

(see, see... I thought I was over it and thought I could sincerely congratulate JCU on the win.  I guess I was wrong...  but +k for you since you didn't force any of the NINE!!!)

If the Otters get into the playoffs, I might have to seriously consider doing something drastic.

Capital needs to unscrew themselves from this funk, play the lights out D they played against JCU in the second half and figure out how to score some damn points.  Unbelieveable that they will go into this game as the underdog.

Have no idea what Assmann's status is.  We'll see when they release the game notes on Wednesday or so.

OTTERS - top 10 in the nation in turnover margin. ;) OTTERS D is playing well and their O, even when playing inconsistant scores at least 30 per game. The game should be a real test this week. Go CARDS.

Finally some good news regarding Sat. mess.  Cap does not hold the record for most turnovers in a game.

The record for most turnovers by a single team is
13 - Georgia vs. Georgia Tech, Dec. 1, 1951 (5 fumbles, 8 interceptions)

A positive in every equation.

A win is a win is a win  ;D.  Having seen Capital play once before this season, I was surprised to hear how this game was going (I had to catch it on the radio).  Assmann or no Assmann, the Cap O should've been able to pull out a W.

Both defenses played extremely well, and that's about the only positive from this game.  Have you ever heard of a team forcing 9 turnovers and only getting 13 points?

JK

How rare is it that a team forces three turnovers and still finishes -6 in the turnover margin?

That only happens when you have NINE TURNOVERS!!!!
