Did someone mention a bus trip to Westerville? If so, i hope the trip includes tickets to the game! The bus driver might have to drive through the fence if there are no tickets.

Also I depend on my state government to prevent monopolies....not create them. This casino issue should have been nixed at the outset.

Otterbein does have room for some portable bleachers in the endzones....don't know if they are organized enough to get it done or not.
I wonder how many seats will be available at the beginning of the second half?

OTT has plenty of room in that place, with or without portable bleachers.  They may only have 3,000 tickets to sell for actual seats, but I doubt they turn anyone away.  If they do, they're dumber than I thought.

The defensive stats posted above are scarily similar for Otterbein and Mount versus Capital.

But before we get too freaked out, Assman was the Capital QB versus Mount and Alexander was the Capital QB versus Otterbein.

Mount by 17.5 ;D

Sorry about the formatting. I had it looking nice.

I was actually amazed at how close those defensive stats were. I havent compared other opponents yet.

MUC vs ONU vs Ott which were played in consecutive weeks. The defensive similarities are quite remarkable.

Regarding the Mount Union bus trip to Otterbein, The reservations had to be set by this past Monday and did NOT include the game tickets.
If interested contact Anne or Tiffany in the Alumni office to see if any seats on the bus still remain.  The cost of the bus ride was quoted as $50.00.

HScoach

In all honesty, it should be a great game to judge the strength of each team's offense since Mount is ranked #1 and Otterbein is ranked #4 in all of Division 3 in scoring defense.

With the cost of gas, couldn't you drive a compact to mid-size car to Westerville for less than that?  Is my math off here?

OldOtter

From what ive heard the 3,000 tickets don't include students getting into the game with their student ID's and parents of players from both teams. I guess it's just for general public tickets. I'm hoping they still let me use my old ID. WOrth a shot!

And there would be plenty of room to put portable stands in either endzone. The problem is, i don't know where they are going to come from. The baseball and soccer teams use the same stands that just get switched between the fields. I know the womens soccer team has a tournament game at the same time as the football game. SO, that set of stands wouldn't be availible. The administration has to know that the seating currently there isn't going to be enough. I never understood why the school didn't make the away stands bigger a few years back when they built the new home bleachers.

As far as I could find, there are 5 pickems sites with spreads and the MUC/Ott game this week.  HCAC and SCAC both spot Ott 14.5, and so far have no takers.  hscoach spots 17.5, and very early returns are 7-1 for MUC.  I put it at 23.5 on the CCIW, and so far it is 2-1 for MUC.  wally_wabash (NCAC) listed it at 30.5, and is running 2-1 for Ott.

Since the goal of an oddsmaker is getting an even split on picks (as opposed to predicting the margin - though hscoach has been doing pretty darned good on both!), the early returns suggest that a spread somewhere in the mid-twenties is how pickers see it.  I'll be curious to track the picks by Saturday, and will report here.

[Personally, I plan to take Ott on both the CCIW and NCAC, but haven't made up my mind on the OAC (I don't play either HCAC or SCAC).]

UPDATE:

HCAC and SCAC (both MUC -14.5) are currently 6-0 for MUC.
OAC (-17.5) is at 14-2 MUC.
CCIW (-23.5) is at 6-1 MUC.
NCAC (-30.5) is at 6-4 MUC.

So far it looks like even mid-20s on the spread wouldn't do it!

I think the Raiders' mystique has reached the point that if pickers were asked to bet on a taped-replay of the 2008 Stagg, hscoach would have to give UWW 17.5 points to even the picks! ;D

We need to plan a trip to Vegas.  Now.

My dream of getting to Westerville is fading. I worked three days this week but the pain in the hip where they harvested the bone fusion is too much, I'm back in bed again.

Ott better improve their passing game, because you need to hitting on all phases of the game to have a chance.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

And the cost of gas today is probably less than it was back in December.
They should have practiced harder.
