Smidty...Mount fans have heard that crap before...You know nothing of Mount and frankly I could care less what you have to say.

Seventies...I'll take 2 of those t-shirts!

Otterbein may want to take a book out of the "act like you've been there before" book.  I too was at the game and actually thought Mount showed the only signs of respect.

They haven't "been there" since 1977, right?  Thats what the press release said..

Isn't it funny how truly neutral observers don't have to bring it up --its usually clear by what the message says..

Latest update on Pickems and Ott/MUC:

HCAC and SCAC have MUC at -14.5: pickers have MUC 8-0.
OAC has MUC at -17.5: pickers go 21-3 for MUC.
CCIW has MUC at -23.5: picks are currently 8-3 MUC.
NCAC has MUC at -30.5: picks are STILL 9-6 for MUC.*

Would 34.5 be enough to even things out?  44.5? 199.5? :D

[Personally, I took MUC at -17.5, but Ott at -23.5 (and -30.5).]

*Unless MUC really does do a 'monkey-stomp' on Ott, you guys might want to file this away for the next time an NCAC guy tries to pull out the 'brains' card. ;D

The NCAC spread was closest and got most even split!

Being part of the broadcast team sometime makes me give the opponent the benefit of the doubt.  Or 2.  Or 20.   An 8-0 in-conference opponent playing at home is one of those situtations.

Come playoff time, there will be no such pleasantries.  WABASH (+31.5) ;D

Your spread history speaks well for you.  I wasn't calling you out.  Responding to Mr. Ypsi calling out the NCAC spread.

I would never 'call out' wally_wabash (well, maybe in jest :D); what I was having fun with is the heights the MUC mystique has reached.  Since even at -30.5, the NCAC final tally was 12-8 for MUC, we spreadmakers are up in the air on where to set it.  I went 6 points higher than hscoach and the CCIW pickers still broke 8-5 for MUC.

Ric and Cosch-In case you wondered, that Pa announcer was overwheming your broadcast at times. Great job anyway. Being stuck in my room with a chair and my computer on a TV table, at least I was that close to the game. A lot better than Friday, listening as Mogadore got hammered 30-0 in the HS playoffs.

Thanks again to all who sent messages and notes. As a teacher and coach it's really frustrating and depressing. I miss the kids and the energy I get from them

Remember the playoff game against Wabash a few years back .
Their fans came in and acted like idiots and the players and cheerleaders weren't much better. One Wabash fan said in the parking lot before the game "You're going to get beat today!" As I remember, they got their butt kicked. I don't think it's wise to shoot off your mouth prior to a game - play the game  and let that decide who was best on that day.

I was at the game in Westerville. I am a OTT fan for everyones information. What I saw was two 8-0 teams, two very emotional teams, both looking for an OAC championship, both looking for an NCAA playoff birth. Nothing more noting less. If you didn't expect emotion youv'e never been on the field. No one wanted to loose and I'm sure no one meant disrespect, just some very emotional, charged up young men. That's why I paid to see the game ( exciting ). MUC won the game that day and I wish then luck in the play-offs. OTT still has some business to take care of next week and mabey, if things go right they can see a play-off trip for the great season they have put together.  8)

70's:  That's what we were afraid of.  You couldn't believe how loud it was.  We even had the windows shut and it still didn't matter.  It had to be very annoying outside too.  Hopefully it didn't ruin the broadcast.

Hope you recover quick enough to make the trip to Salem.  If they stay healthy, they've got a shot.

While I find the "moving up" comment something I've learned to expect from my alcoholic brother-in-law every football weekend for the years I've know him, if anything Mount needs to work on the sports other than Football, Track and Cross Country. I think Heidelberg has shown the way that to be good at a lot of sports is better for more students than to be great at one or two. Kenyon has won a zillion swimming titles but it hasn't done much for the rest of their programs.

During my time at Mount we were so good in Track that even the OAC schools wouldn't come. I remember Coach Wuske asking us to turn our jerseys over before the Mile Relay so we didn't beat Washington and Jefferson 136-0. But there were really no other decent teams on campus, save perhaps baseball. I want to see a Mount basketball team make the playoffs, I want to hear about sports like swimming so I know everybody who wants to gets something positive from the NCAA experience.

(It's spooky that while I was typing this I got a call from the college. Apparently they want me finance my Dream)

Congrats to the Muskies.  I would not have guessed they could pull off a win vs JCU.  Actually, pretty surprised they have two wins this year and they are against ONU and JCU.

say hscoach when is the pod-cast going to be up?

Former MUC WR Pierre Garcon had his first NFL catch early in the 3rd quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers today

mr_mom

Mr Garcon just made his first official NFL reception.

Only two yards, but he had to dive backwards to snag a badly thrown ball.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.
