Knightstalker-That touched me as much as watching my 11 year old in his Boy Scout uniform lead the Pledge of Alliegence at his grade school's Veteran's Day program.
;)

BTW Cap guys, thanks for your SID, he is really first rate.

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO MR MOM AKA BARNEY

For the cow bell that arrived today, maybe Ric, HSCoach and I can form a section at the Stagg Bowl. Ric mentioned on-air last week he always sits in front of the guy with the cow bell, I always sit in front of the guy with the air horn. Now I can fight back. Thanks again, it's sitting here next to my laptop on the tray table. Hey, now I can summon my family members.

I know the athletic dept. hated to see him go, very well respected.  Tough times ahead for CU athletics, especially football.

JK-nice rant, all true.

As much as I hate the Otters I do hope they beat JCU and do well in the playoffs.  Did I just say that?

Thanks CU. If it were Cap, I would be pulling for them too. It would be nice to see two OAC schools make the play-offs.

It sure seems that way from what little we see from the outside.  It's going to be really sad seeing all that Coach Collins built come crashing down.  I know LK respected Collins a lot.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Coach Collins was always one of the toughest to prepare for  !!

I was re-reading a few posts and had to chime in. First, seventies I love the t-shirt and would wear one proudly. I also have a couple of others in mind:
1. Take a picture of ALL of Mounts hardware (rings, trophies...) and underneath: Got Hardware?
2. Take a pic of all of Mounts rings: It don't mean a thing if you don't got a ring.

Maybe a Monty Python reference for hscoach could come from Otterbein after last Saturday: "It's only a flesh wound"

Finally, I wonder if the M Club has considered simply putting in Varsity teams when it comes to players. I mean put in the Ballard's, ets... but because there are so many worthy individuals - simply saying "and now we would like to enshrine the (insert year here) Mount Union Varsity Football Team".

Had to put this post in seperately. I love reading the vets comments from everyone. They do mean a great deal to all vets. I remember sitting in an internet tent in 2004 paying (by the minute) to try and listen to Mount's unfortunate loss to UMHB while in the Middle East (my heart sank when I heard the pass was caught). That is when I joined the site (hence the name Desertraider) though I had followed it for a few years prior. Anyway - thanks for the support.

Can we PLEASE put Mount Union in the Big 10 where they belong! ;D

With their high powered offense, they would still run the table and have an undefeated record in the conference! :o

1. Illinois
2. Indiana
3. Iowa
4. Purdue
5. Michigan
6. Michigan St
7. Ohio State
8. Penn St.
9 Wisconsin
10. Minnesota
11. Northwestern
12. Mount Union

Looks good to me, I think they can do it! Maybe we need to send a petition to LK & see what it takes to make this dream a REALITY!
I'm sure the teams in the OAC can appreciate facing an opponent that's not ahead by 50 @ the half!  ;)
I wonder what Mount Union's winning percentage would be if they played in the Big 10? ???

OK, If you guys think that Mount Union would have trouble handling the competition in the Big 10 ... what about the Mid American (West)???

EAST CONFERENCE
Akron
Buffalo
Bowling Green
Temple
Kent State
Miami (OH)
Ohio

WEST CONFERENCE
Ball State
Central Michigan
Western Michigan
Northern Illinois
Toledo
Eastern Michigan
Mount Union

Not only would they help balance out the teams in the 2 conferences but NO ONE in the Mid American Conference has a perennial top 25 football program!
Mount Union can certainly compete & win games on a week to week basis in the Mid Amer so let's contact LK or the AD to get this idea in MOTION!  8)

Let's not do that and instead enjoy that Mount is a perennial power in D3 football.

I really hope you're not serious...

"I always want to have the ball first. I want to get out there and start hitting them before they hit us and I also think its big to get on the scoreboard first," said Kmic. "I was pretty fired up when we got the fumble."

This is why I prefer Nate over Moore...he wants to score ( be it so humble there's no place like the end zone) and punish people. Ya gotta love it!

Of course I am not serious. However, the talk of Mount moving up to another level is just as ridiculous. So since Mount moving up has been discussed and dismissed ad nauseum - why not go the other way! Maybe we could start a campaign that OSU, USC, Florida, Georgia, and the rest are all ducking Mount because they won't move down a couple levels, give up the scholarships and the million dollar TV deals, enforce some sort of academic standards, and meet Mount on the field.

The point is that every year (usually, three or four times) the topic comes up "why doesn't Mount move up to....". It is a ridiculous notion. Mount is what it is: A great D3 team. Could they compete elsewhere? Perhaps. But they are a D3 team. When college football becomes British Premiere League Soccer - you have to win to stay at that level or you are moved to a lower level and forced to win your way back up - then we can discuss it. Until then, Mount Union is D3, and the Detroit Lions are Professionals. Now that would be a game! Mount 55  Detroit 6!
