good luck to the Otters in their first home playoff contest.  I went to the JCU yesterday and the Otters looked decent in the first half, then what appeared to be a small hurricane blew into Shula stadium and I scurried for the warm and dry car.  weirdest thing, gametime was 55 degrees overcast, then a strange fog crept in followed by a drop of 20 degrees, rain, and gale force winds....not fit for man, beast, or even pigskin.. this fair weather observer listened to the end of the game on the college station on the way home....go raiders...
I already found a reason not to like Randolph Macon....they are the yellow jackets....wonder if they wear s##t brown and yellow, like our other favorite "bumble bees"

Really, however, it will be good to see a different team in Alliance...we will be polite hosts...

Wait till the Otter faithful get an eyeful and earful of the wabash crowd.   I will be interested on their take of the little giants fans and cheerleaders.

hmmm. too bad Otterbein is playing Franklin. Are you supposing Ott will make it to the regional final along with Wabash? :D

OldOtter

I'd love to get a shot at Wabash, but Franklin and North Central aren't exactly walkovers. Franklin beat BW in the first game this season by 7. Otterbein played a terrible first half against BW and pulled it out in the second half by 17. Both games were high scoring. Can't look ahead in the playoffs, especially when this is your first trip in school history.

GO CARDS!

If OTT stays focused they can win the North. They matchup well and have seen better this year. Best of luck to OTT and MUC! Let's get a rematch!

If you are referrring to Mt Union as "better" you officially win the obvious statement of the year award as well as the understatement of the year award.  :-\

I would like to thank all my fans, my parents, God (because he has nothing better to do than make sure I win things), my publicist, and just so many people I know I have forgotten at this moment. I mean to be a double winner is amazing! Thank-you all.

It is not just MUC - JCU had a good D and put up a fight, and BW had a nice D as well. I think OTT has faced some really good teams in the OAC that put them in a great position to win the North. But they have to stay focused.

I really like OTT's chances are great in the North as well, Elmhurst proved that the pass defense is North Central's achille's heel, so to speak.  So Rafferty will need to crank up the passing game some way, and more than he has recently. My only concern for OTT might be if they play Wabash, Where the heck are they going to put all of thier crowd! I mean the bleachers they got now could only hold the RED SUSPENDERS GANG itself, not including the fans and the sea of red at that game :o will be an eye full.  :o  I only submit this as a neutral Observer.  ;D  GOOD LUCK CARDS!!

desert,

I really believe the two participants from the CCIW are real threats to win the North this year.  I believe in the quality of the OAC, but I don't think the JCU or BW defenses are better than what NCC and Wheaton have in 2008.

That said, the winner of the North will be either NCC, Wheaton or OTT.

Al Michaels on Sunday Night Football:

"London Fletcher went to school at nearby John Carroll University..."

I guess in some relative sense Cleveland is nearby to Washington D.C.

I heard this too!  I really was hoping I had misheard.

As for the playoffs, it's bad enough that I've not been able to see an east region team in the Stagg Bowl, now I'll never get to see another one in the Semifinals if this happens every year!!  :D.

Good luck playing the South Region team in the first round... lol.

I know what kind of football is played in the OAC and I have great respect for any playoff rep from there. I have never seen Ott so I can't have any opinion but I trust HSCoach and he posted he believes it will be all CCIW regional final. I do believe North central is better this year than last year when they were close to UWW at the end of the 3rd qtr. That said you have to play well in the playoffs to advance and both NCC and Wheaton have had their moments this season.

Sorry CRWU70, I found this Plain Dealer headline funny:

CWRU, Mount Union are undefeated again
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Oops my bad I misread the bracket.  Oh well go cards!

A local HS player just broke the record for rushing yards in a season for our county and this was his quote in the paper:

Quote"It was hard," Golden said. "I didn't have that good of blockers, but we did all right. I just had to make it for myself."

We'll see how well his line blocks for him this week in the opening round of the playoffs!  LOL

It's too bad Otter didn't draw Wabash.  As a neutral observer, it would have been very interesting to see the "normal Otterbein behavior" mixed with the idots from Indiana.  That would be worth watching.

Reality Check,
Are you still the Commissioner of the OAC Board?  If so, I hereby nominate "neutral observer" as the phrase of the year for 2008.  Please add it to the ever growing list.

Speaking as a former center, this kid wouldn't make it out of the locker room healthy enough to play in the next game >:(
