looks like some people calling you out. They don't realize you were just joking around.

Joking is no excuse there, I think.

I'll second that.  Wabash fans' (or cheerleaders') behavior at a football game has nothing to do with their sexuality.

Survey on the home page:  who were the 5.6 % that picked Mt. to be upset?  I picked Trine.

Could also be fans of 7 teams in the East Region who don't want to see MUC on the other sideline..  I know I lived that "dream" for a day or so, because of Pat's predictions.

I do not agree with using vulgar terms like that. Surprised hscoach went there. We all have bad days though.

I voted Trine.  But it was actually a bit of a trick question, since Willamette and Occidental face each other in round one, ONE of them HAS to lose! ;)

it is so refreshing to talk with someone who is pleasant, wants to help, and takes the time to answer your questions.  She even asked how our son was enjoying being a student at MUC.  Maybe the difference in tuition is worth it after all.....

It took my wife a long time to figure out why when I decided to return to school in my late forties to become a teacher why I wouldn't pick up courses somewhere else. It's just a warm friendly place.

I know there are some people laughing that "knew me when", because I hated it when I first got there as a freshman

Last year I made it back to my first game at MUC for 13 years.  In that time I've attended several Florida, SOuth Florida, and Bucs games.  As electric as the environment at a DI power can be, it can't compare to the DIII experience in Alliance.  From the time we stepped foot an campus to the time we left the bookstore the  genuine friendliness of everyone warmed an otherwise miserably cold day.  Where else can you find an all you can eat buffet that compares to a cruise ship where guests dine with the college president?

Small but Slow must be rich, I have never been on a cruise ship, nor eaten with a college president.  LOL

I took a Med cruise on the sub to the left, does that count as a cruise ship?  I played bass guitar in the jazz ensemble that was entertaining the President, Faculty and guests at the sunday matinee brunches for several of the NJCU musical, operas and plays.  Does that count as eating with the President?  We were allowed to eat during breaks, he was there, and because I was over thirty at the time the director of the ensemble allowed me to partake of the mimosa fountain.

It does actually drive me nuts that the most over used word among today's kids is the word gay. Quite often used in contexts other than it's intended definition but almost always negative.

Trust me, I won't allow things to be said in my classroom just because they are the current rage, like "Oh my God." I'm often more successful in teaching manners and common decency than computer applications, just because I choose to set the bar high. Plus we're a small school in a small town and we have different expectations.

Oh yeah,  and my kids are in the school district.

It is good to see some teachers still insist on proper behavior and manners.  Mrs. KS used to insist on it and teach them to her first graders when she was teaching in the public schools, and now does it with the students she teaches one on one.

My old granny used to say, "you are never too rich or too poor to afford good manners."

BTW Masseyratings.com rates Trine's foe last Saturday, Kentucky Christian as the worst team in the NAIA.

I thought there would be more talk about Ott and Frankllin but not a word.  Is this matchup that boring?
12-0 = 13

As far as I am concerned, until OTT wins that first play-off game they are in the category of "pretender" vs. "contender" at this point.  I thought their effort against JCU was suspect, so I have a wait and see attitude.  I HOPE they step up and represent the OAC well.  I just don't know how good they actually are at this point.

What a football Saturday this week.  Mount game, OSU/Mich second half on the way home from Mount, and then Hoover vs. Ignatius Saturday night.  I hope we can get the temperature up into the 40's, but it's not looking promising.

I think that Ott wins this handily.  One thing that I have seen consistently out of teams from the OAC that puts them head and shoulders above everyone else is speed on defense.  As long as Ott's DB's can keep up with the receivers and they get some pressure on that QB from Franklin (I think it's the same kid from last year, he's excellent), then they should come out on top of this one.  Plus the 2nd place team from the OAC is traditionally better than about 80% of all of the champions of other conferences, IMO.

New Tradition,

What team do you support?  Just wondering if you have seen Franklin play this year.

While I agree that the second place team in the OAC is typically very strong and could win some other conferences, I think saying that the top two teams in the OAC are better than 80% of all teams in D3 may be stretching a bit.
They should have practiced harder.
