If you are to beat Mount I would think that any coach would review/use last year's Stagg Bowl as the blueprint.  Defensively put constant pressure on Micheli, and use the run blitz repeatedly.  Lock down Garcon (insert Shorts here) with one or two d-backs.

Offensively you must mix your play selection effectively.  WW converted on 3rd down with flares, outs, etc...  Run the ball late in the game to prevent Mount from getting it back.

Win the turnover & kicking game.

Can that happen....yes.  Will it......time will tell but I doubt it.

You forgot to mention......have personnel similar to what WW put on the field last year at the Stagg Bowl.  They matched up physically with MUC.

So, the "secret" is to be creative offensively, aggressive defensively, no mistakes, and have similar studs on the field.  No problemo.

Good Luck to all the Folk, Players and Coaches traveling in from VA.
The forecast for the lower snow belt calls for lake effect snow through Saturday, with a total accumulation of 2 feet.
The lower snow belt comes from the West side of Cleveland down over Akron Canton and curves north to the southern part of Youngstown. I think that misses Alliance, but not by much.
Go Raiders!!!  I love Ya!

Then. . . if you manage to put all this together . . .  you need to hope MUC panics a bit and varies from their own game plan and loses their composure.

Oh......and one more thing that HSCoach and I have talked about previously.......when you are aggressive on defense, and do all the right things.....YOU MUST TACKLE WELL!  SJU, and WW last year tackled better then just about anyone I have ever seen.  Kmic LIVES on breaking from first contact and gouging for huge yards.

From the "We knew he was good...but" dept.

Greg Micheli's career passer rating is 197.8 making him the highest rated passer in college football history just ahead of former Purple Raider Bill Borchert (1994-97) who has a 194.2 rating.

To continue with what Blutarsky said to beat Mount you also have to hope that for some reason the coaches fail to make the right adjustments during the game. That happens once every 45 or so games and often isn't enough to help the other team win. In my many years being around football their coaching adjustments are as good as I've ever seen. All in all it's a major task with all the stars aligning to whip Mount. As a UT Rocket it's hard to agree with anything anyone tied to bgsu thinks but Blutarsky is on target.  Go Mount!

Bomber  As in any football game RMC must control both lines on offense and defense.   If they control in the trenches for 4 quarters they will have an excellent chance of upsetting Mt.     The Raiders have a young and somewhat small defensive line.   They could be pushed around if you have the horses.   However, they are fast and quick.  They are also very well prepared and knowledgeable about their adversary.   Coaching by LK leaves no stone unturned.  He will know your tendencies and weaknesses.   He will exploit them unless you adjust.  He will give his team every chance to win.  That being said good luck and enjoy the experience.   Regardless of the outcome, if you learn and grow then you are winners.    Also RMC backers should not confuse cocky with realistic.  Based on past team supporters ie Linfield and the butcher  comments some years ago, we are being quite reserved.  Have a safe trip to A town.

To all the Mount Union Faithful,

Good luck Saturday. And by the way, Averett University is willing to let someone else hold the title for having the most points scored in a half (75) and Nate needs to take the first handoff, (first play) and score. Averett would be most gracious to give up the honors of "Ass kicking" It may not have been a playoff game but we would still love to lose that monkey off our back.  :D ;D

Good luck guys, hope to see you in Salem.

Ugh, I just had a flashback of the car ride BACK from Averett. I don't imagine a car ride that seemed longer in my life....

They are doing a promotion at MUC letting students come for free on Saturday. The flyer said something along the lines of "don't let the usual $4 student playoff ticket get in the way of supporting your Raiders!"

I think I recall something like this last year when that other football team from Ohio played a certain team from Ann Arbor. Well I know I will be there, it's play-off time baby!!!!

Word is the OSU - Michigan game may be cancelled.  It seems that the Wolverines can't get by Toledo.

Is hscoach on suspension for his last comment?  He's been strangely absent for the last few days.

If so, who is going to do the pick 'ems for the playoffs?

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

Spreads have already been posted.  I saw HSCoach posting on the ODAC board so I think he is still around.

Starting to think watching volleyball on the Big Ten Network may be more entertaining than is week's game. Let's see, a blowout in the snow or watching leaping amazons in short shorts
