Otterbein should be ashamed of themselves.  62 points to Franklin?  Yeesh. >:(

At least when Capital lost in Round 1 last year, it was without a QB or TB to Whitewater.

AGREE THERE! Still abit shocked in that on their home turf! wonder if they forgot how to run out on the field at the start of the game?  ;D

These teams are not taking a knee at the 5 ...

With 4+ minutes to go, D2 West Texas A&M has scored 61 points ... and is losing by 32!!!  Abilene Christian has 93 in the second round of the D2 playoffs.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

BTW in D2
Ashland got clobbered by Grand Valley State 40-7  :(
At least all of Michigan can't be crying tonight!

154 points in a second round playoff game. . . so much for the new clock rules keeping scores down.  At the current pace Kmic will have the record before the championship game (might be a bit presumptuous, but I can't see any teams in the path that can slow him or the team down.)

Congratulations to Nate Kmic for another good day at the office. 209 yds at the half! And to boot he got a little sugar from Bob Griese on the Ohio Michigan broadcast. Way to go Raiders.

I was wondering--what was up with the clock in today's MUC game?  Guys would go out of bounds and then the refs would start the game clock as soon as the ball was set.  I understand that the play clock runs--but I thought out of bounds stopped the game clock until the next snap.

Am I wrong? Or is there a different rule in the playoffs?  Or did the refs just want to get home to watch the end of the OSU/UM game?

All year long, all divisions rule change.  It's been that way since game 1.  The average NCAA Div. I game was all the way up to three and a half hours compared to just over three for the NFL.

Clock only stays stopped with less than two minutes in the 2nd and 4th quarter, just like NFL.  I think it's a great rule change.

Good season OTT, but geeez what happened to the secondary?  UGHHHHHHHHHH!

I heard they rushed 11 to try and stop the pass.

The new clock rules have little effect on the game.  Teams that manage the clock well still manage the clock well while those who don't can blame the new rules.

Shorts left the game hopping on one foot.   Serious?     I saw half of one section occupied by RMC fans.  A good crowd?    RMC were the worst tacklers I have seen in a long time.    Kmic had a field day.   Mt's D bent but did not break.  RMC's offense ran some innovative plays and they were successful.   Hence over 200 yards of offense.   Statesmen up next.

Word is Cecil's ankle is okay. He was dancing on the sidelines through the fourth quarter and walked fine into the locker room.  Still a little under the weather from last week's bug.

I think you'll find the Hobart posters (all 3 of us) to be relatively tame in comparison to the other "more prolific" LL posters.  Given that all the other LL and E8 teams (the group that constitutes the bulk of the East posters) are finished for the year, it may be pretty quiet around here.

Regarding tackling:  I would Hobart like to think given our personnel we will perform better than RMU.

Before the Lyco game, Hobart had 2 LBs ranked #14 (ILB Pre-season All-America and D1 Lax player, Justin Hager) with 105 total/11.6 pg and #33 (SR LB Jeff Sanders) with 94/10.6 pg in the Nation, respectively.

Hager had 9 tackles today and so did our 6' 2" 300 lb DT Ryan Aruck (3rd overall on team with 82 stops).

We also have 2 DBs (FS SR Lance Boyington and FY CB Drake Woodard) that are in the top 5 in the nation with 8 and 7 interceptions (although admittedly, picks don't do you much good if you can't stop the run), respectively.

Hobart held a very good Lyco rushing game to 59 total rushing yards today and cranked out over 400 total yards against a very strong Lyco defense.

Sorry, I gotta argue with Lyco being a good rushing team, ranked 134Th and averaging 132 yards is a pretty below average rushing average for a playoff team. Good defense I'll give you, but hardly a good rushing team

Let the banter begin.

got me there - k+

TGP-What you don't know is because I have a cracked hip I've got nothing better to do than research DIII football . Not trying to be a wise @ss, just got nothing but time on my hands. Glad to hear your not part of the LL insanity. We're a pretty tame bunch, if perhaps cocky with cause. I pray it's good game next week because it will be my first time outside except for doctor's appointments in a month. Welcome to our crazy little board.
