All year long, all divisions rule change.  It's been that way since game 1.  The average NCAA Div. I game was all the way up to three and a half hours compared to just over three for the NFL.

Clock only stays stopped with less than two minutes in the 2nd and 4th quarter, just like NFL.  I think it's a great rule change.

I by contrast hate the new clock rules.  The almost never stopping clock is costing each team about 12 to 15 offensive plays a game.  I understand why the NCAA did it (more commercial $), but I'd rather see the games played under the old clock rules.

Toph, did you catch a game today?  Any thoughts from it?

R-M had a small contingent fan base at the game, but for the few that made it, they did give some great support. I know they didn't expect many to come as they turned down the 500 tickets available. But, they showed great class and have alot to be appreciative of, getting at least the chance to be in the playoffs and coming through a tough season in their conference.
Listening to the R-M coach in the post game, i'm sure they will be a contending again for the ODAC conference title and have plenty to be proud of. Being a former athlete that faced Mount when he was at Wheaton, he knew what he was up against and had high praises of both Lk and coaching staff and Nate himself.

I guess I just missed the rule change--that's not too hard when you team is as dominant as MUC--I guess it never really affects our game plan.  I was just hoping for one more TD in the first half.

I think HSCoach was trying to comment on the fact that OC didn't show up on D, not taking any shots at FC.  Chill out dude and have another one.

FC just has to keep winning and time will tell (on December 13th in Alliance) if FC is for real or if OC was just a pretender.

Spin however you want but FC put up over 600 yards and curtailed Ott's running game.  Hopefully FC will continue to win but at least we get the chance. FC got limited respect on this board because it was apparent because OTT played in the same conference as MT Union they had to be great.  Guess what Mt Union is in league of their own.

The NCAA seeding is a joke. FC and Wabash are not the 5th and 6th seeds unless you just look at pure record and dont look at who they play.  FC choked at Trine ( popped today 14-0) and Case which doesn't even play a full conference sched lost to Bash.  Bash layed an egg at home last week.

Newsflash: FC and Bash still live to play another day.

Ott enjoy the holiday and the time off till next season

Classy post.  We'll see if you have the same thing to say next week.

I don't think you have a clue what hscoach meant but my question for you, as a neutral observer of course, is where were you all week on this board?  I'm not, and neither is hscoach, a fan/alum of OTT but it takes a big person to come in here after his team puts up big numbers.  We would have loved to have had some banter in here from Franklin or RMC folks as OAC followers but you wait until what's done is done to spout off.

Great job to Rupp and Co..  They lit up Otterbein and were unrelenting; a dominant offensive performance by Franklin, especially in the second half.  But defensively, the Grizzlies better find some answers because OTT didn't put the kind of numbers they did today through the air on anyone else this year.  The Grizzlies have questions to answer on defense if they want to progress.  The Grizzlies were the best defense on the field in Westerville but that's not saying much at all.  Otterbein still managed to throw for nearly 100 yards more yards than they did in any game this year.  I hope you guys move on and get your shot against MUC.  Take care of business.  If an OAC team has to lose, then I want the team that beats them to do well too.

blah blah blah   when you have nothing to say you bring up the classy argument.  when it see an OC poster give FC some props for what happened today like what we got from the NCAC, etc then I will listem.  71 yards rushing at home (when we all heard how OC got 117 yards against MUC) is not playoff caliber football.  OC will learn just like FC did that playoff FC is a different type of game

We may not win next week and NCC is a great opponent but we will be respected going in and we had a great game with then last year.  CCIW folks can admit when they lose to the better team.

I AM a North Central guy, chief.  Congrats to FC and the fantstic offensive performance that they put on today.  Frankly (no pun intended) I'm worried about next week.  Rupp is lights out and improving, from the sound of it.  But to come in here and rub OC's nose in a defeat is just plain low class.

Did we all miss something?  When was anyone talking about Otterbein and Franklin this week in this forum?  The only thing I remember reading is the surprise at the lack of talk about the game.

And I'm sure that the whopping 2 OC fans on Post Patterns will give FC it's due.  Although, I'd have a hard time giving you credit for anything with the way you've handled yourself in the last few posts.  Franklin played a heck of a game offensively and deserves all the credit in the world for picking OTT's secondary apart (despite your immature comments).

Now until the two OTT posters give you your due, perhaps you'd be best suited to go wait in the NCAC forum hoping someone pats you on your virtual head and says, "good job".

Props to Franklin for their first (?) playoff win.

FC Alum: Please stop. Relish the victory as a fan and dont tarnish it for FC team.

fc_alum_84

its all cool.  As FC is newer to the annual playoff tradition no real value adding to the banter. I let the OC folks and others do the talking all last week.   I wont be on here this week making grandiose predictions either.

NCC is the real deal and we had a great game with them last year and should again this year.  NCC is probably the favorite being at home, etc but we will see next Saturday.

OC played well and made great plays for three quarters. Bit when the going got tough in the fourth they wore out.  The receivers (IMO) are not used to having to make big play after big play as the running game keeps them in it.  Today (and for the last few weeks) FC has been stout against the run.  That was the difference.  FC won the line of scrimmage on both sides.

IMO NCC will be be much stouter all around than OC but we shall see.

My main point is that the OAC without MUC is not that much better than many other conferences.  IMO the CCIW and the conference that UW-Whitewater plays in is better top to bottom.  That is why NCC gets the respect they get.  Also Wheaton is stilll alive from the CCIW

agreed, hscoach.  Hopefully some of that corporate money that Division III is getting from Nike, Gatorade and Under Armour is making its way down to Pat Coleman and D3football.com!!

Seriously, sucks that DIII has to follow the rules and the only time they benefit from it is during the 2nd round (and on) with flights.

Hey HScoach:

How about a steaming cup of shut the F up!!!!!!!!!!!!  The HCAC layed 62 big ones on a "vaunted" one time OAC wonder and you make a comment like that??  Get real dude!!  I was at the game. Chad Rupp lit up OC for seven TD's and ran another.  BTW OC's fans and students were pathetic.  I realize it is thanksgiving weekend but FC brougt a great crowd and guess what HScoach  we will do it again next weekend.

Mt Union is Mt Union no comments here but OAC as a whole this year is not the deal  FC is 2-0 against OAC so again the scoreboard talks and OC walks!!

I guess someone is in favor of the new clock rules... Jesus

As much as I'd like to hear some intelligent discussion of the Franklin-Otterbein game, I'd suggest FC take your own advice or at least wait till you sober up. As I'm restricted to home for medical reasons I read every post on this board as they show up and I can assure you we have no idea what your beef is. Sorry your so pissed off you won.

PS I doubt you'd get much argument about the WIAC and Minnesota conferences being stronger than the OAC this and recent years, but the CCIW? ?, no way.
