I'll be there tomorrow again...probably at the half.  I don't know if I have any JCU gear to distinguish myself this time.

Good article in The Repository today on Nate.  Interesting way to use Nate's statistics in comparison to other records to put them in perspective.

Pretty soon you'll just roll to the Hood straight from the pre-game brunch.

I am really amazed at the fact that we are still talking about VK getting fired up at Salem. If it were really that bad he would had been ejected from the game. Plain and simple some of you cannot handle the fact that VK has been as successful as he has been as a D-Coord. I do realize most of this talk is from posters who are not from Mount or the OAC, it time to call it what it is, Jealousy! This was the same with Garcon and some of his celebrations and such, we see them every Friday night, every Saturday and especially on Sunday afternoons, however the reason people are only bagging on these individuals is because of their success. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time, but it's just like i tell the guys I coach, if you're going to make a mistake let it be an aggressive one. Though LK preaches not to let your emotions get in the way, there will be some times that it does happen, no one is perfect mistakes happen. Maybe some of those people out there should get over their man crush of hating VK and just accept him for what he is, a GREAT COACH!     ;D

70's,
My wife and I have been going to Mount games for more than 30 years.   Remember back when it was just fun to go to a game?   (Oh my, we might even win this one!).  I have to admit being very spoiled expecting to win almost every game.   I try not to be the least bit cocky, but I sure am proud of my Purple Raiders.

You are rightfully proud of your team, but The Rev can see how it would get awfully boring if you knew your team would win time and time again.

As a Hobart fan, The Rev watches or listens to every game never knowing if the Statesmen are going to pull it off or not.  That is at once exciting and nerve-wracking.  If anyone here has ever read the LL board, you will see that The Rev has a habit of choosing to attend games that Hobart loses, causing The Rev to pitch fits.

What makes tomorrow's game so exciting is watching the Statesmen go up against the Nation's best and see how they do.  In a way, it's like an experiment and MUC is the control dish.  Like Ivory soap, MUC has a 99 44/100 pure chance of victory.  The Rev is praying for that 56/100% to turn into points.

The Rev will be happy with a respectable showing.  That is, scoring in the double digits and keeping the game to within 2 or 3 TDs.

I think sometimes Vince does not get near enough credit for the job he has done with the defense.  Most, myself included thought that Monty's loss would be the end of some of the dominance we saw on that side of the ball.  I believe that Vince's defenses are more aggressive and more fun to watch than most of the Monty squads.  Both effective, however, I vote for the VK philosophy.

I don't know why more coordinators do not go "up top" in the booth anyway, as it seems to me that you get a better look up there.  Maybe you lose a bit of "the feel" of the game...I wonder...would like to hear opinions on this...

PS.  I love the emotion that VK showed at the Stagg....he was out there fighting for his players who put it on the line for him and that support gets my vote..

If the weather forecast for tomorrow (40 and sunny) is correct, expect a little more action from the passing game than we saw against Marietta or RMC.

I'm guessing Kmic passes Bowers early 3rd quarter on his way to a rather pedestrian 160 yards and 3 TD's.

But then again, I thought he'd only get 10-12 carries at Etta ::)
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I think SJF_Fan has gone "Wabash" on us. Spontaneously becoming a complete jack-ass and claiming it's school tradition. Thankfully there's no gun involved, just a lot of people shaking their heads in disbelief.

Save me a spot in the brunch line. I'm allowed to drive again. It's a little cold for the Harley or the Triumph. Yes Dean T I still have a garage full of motorcycles. There's no side porch at the SAE house anymore

Hope The Rev plans on bringing a box of hankies.  ;)  My bold prediction: 49-7

I agree with your prediction.  Although MUC might make it 56-7 if Nate gets LOTS of playing time.

that article is hilarious. the guy talks about how players from opposing teams dread even stepping on to the field against mt. union. i don't know why anyone would! you have a chance to play the best of the best in DIII. i personally enjoyed playing mount, especially up at their place (except the away locker rooms... worst i've ever been in). it was always a challenge. nothing like the week of practice before the game when you would head in to watch film and have to hear the coach say "he's probably the best at his position in the conference" about every player. the atmosphere at Mount is better than another other school i played at. the student section was always packed even when our team came in their with a losing record.

if mount wasn't mount, there's a pretty good chance that a second place 9-1 or 8-2 OAC team doesn't make it to the playoffs. no one else has won any national titles in the last 20 years from the OAC. mount is the reason the OAC is looked at by outsiders as powerful, plain and simple.

my fellow otterbein alum might be a little salty because he was just the equipment manager, but come on, bud.

I really don't know why every year at this time (during playoff's) everyone wants to put down Mt. Union and complain that they shouldn't be in DIII, or they need to leave their conference, etc. Bottom line folks, if you want to win a DIII National Championship then the road is through Alliance, Ohio.

All I have heard the past four years during the playoff season is people complaining about Mt. Union this and Mt. Union that. Sounds to me like BS and just an excuse for getting your butts kicked. Excuses are like A-Holes and everyone has one. Thing is, they all stink......

Averett University had the balls to schedule Mt. Union for a 2 year ride. Once in Alliance and once in Danville, Virginia. We got our butts wiped and handed to us on a silver plater. Averett coaches told their players if you want to get to the top, then you have to play the best. They saw first hand what, where and how they had to be in order to get to the top.

One thing you never heard from a single Averett supporter, coach, player or parent was negative remarks about Mt. Union. It was praise from the get go. The only thing I complained about was the ride on the PA Turnpike from Va to Alliance. (and that was my own fault).

Get a life folks. Mt. Union is the best DIII has and they got there from hard work, good players, great coaching and great support. If you want your school to get there then start at home (the school) and work to improve your program and make your school pump some money into the program as well. I have seen some good schools in the past 4 years with kids that want to win, and have the ability to win; but they don't have the support from the school, alumni or community where the school is located. Mt. Union has all this and more. Stop with all the jealous, baby crying and play hard nosed football. If you lose then learn from it, don't cry about it.

OK, I will shut up and go back to my neck of the woods. By the way, I am pulling for Mt. Union to win it all and I really don't care what you all come back with and have to say.

Kickdad, great post. You have always been a class act as well as the Averett team. This is exactly how a program gets better. No whining, just work. Since I can't give you Karma...imaginary positive karma for you.

BTW, I would send negative karma to SFJ Fan for the pitiful posts but I see he's well on his way to stardom w/o my help.
