Phi Apha, Griz_Backer.
Another SAE here, Ohio Sigma, Mount Union, the oldest continuous chapter north of the Mason-Dixon Line.
Also attended Leadership School at Levere Memorial Temple and was a chapter rep at a national convention (don't ask me which one, it was probably before you were born).

Front Page Kmic Article:
D3 reporter has half quotation marks on a Kmic statement saying he has three more games.  If he said it that way to the reporter, it's going to end up on opponent locker room bulletin boards.

Me too, same timeframe, same chapter

PS Runyr doesn't look anything like Bob Marley, or at least he didn't the last time I saw him three decades ago

Is this the quote you are referring to:
Quote"It's an awesome feeling," said Kmic. "It's a team game. We've got three more games. I'll probably look back on it in awe as a great accomplishment, but right now, it's the team looking forward.

I don't see anything wrong...  ???

I too cannot beleive that Kmic is not at least considered for the Player of the Year award. I remember when Chuck Moore won it that he had a student job selling football tickets for the playoffs over the phone. Maybe that put him over the top. ::) Perhaps Nate can tear tickets at the gate next week before the game and get reconsidered. ;) Still, how can you argue with Micheli representing the team? Too bad the two cant split the honor.

Getting mightly crowded with SAE's here. Welcome Bro.

While I don't want to debunk any theories about Cortland St putting it all together in the playoffs let's examine some other stats from Massey (one of the six BCS statisticians)

Curry  112th Strength rating  214th schedule strength

Plymouth ST 130th Strength rating 206th schedule strength

For comparison:

Averett  123 Strength rating 125th schedule strength

I do think they will keep our D-backs working hard, but they showed me something exciting against Hobart.

Saturdays game was exciting, I attend a majority of games (Section 14) season tickets, one of the first tis season we have not left after halftime.  Hobart made it exciting, hoping that Cortaland can do the same, of course with the same results for Mount, and Nate.....  [/color]

Here are some numbers comparing Mount to Cortland State.  These rankings are from the NCAA website and are based upon the first 11 games.

Rushing Offense          Mount Union  -  Ranked # 11          Cortland State  -  # 116
Passing Offense           Mount Union  -  Ranked # 19          Cortland State  -  #   43
Scoring                       Mount Union  -  Ranked  #  2          Cortland State  -  #   38
Total Offense               Mount Union  - Ranked  #   1          Cortland State  -  #   58

Rushing Defense         Mount Union  -  Ranked  #   1          Cortland State  -  #  31
Passing Defense          Mount Union  -  Ranked  #   2          Cortland State  -  #202
Total Defense              Mount Union  -  Ranked  #   1          Cortland State  -  #  89

By the way, I was a member of SAE at Mount a couple of years after Seventies.

I too cannot beleive that Kmic is not at least considered for the Player of the Year award.

Only one can be nominated and that's who Mount chose. Just a reminder for all that this was who Mount Union decided to nominate.

Kmic will be considered for Player of the Year. Just not for the Gagliardi Trophy, which is a different award entirely. :)

I'm pretty sure Nate does care, because without that ring, it don't mean thing. You take the season a game at a time. I think you view the playoffs as a single multi event and the purpose is to be standing in Salem, you gotta keep your eye on the prize. I assure you the staff have plans laid out weeks a  head. Since day one, the goal is to finish

I'm sure Nate and the line will have a plan to go at the line  of beef-a-loes accross the line. The bgger they are, the slower they turn to watch Nate dance by another time.

We need another awards night with the players signing stuff for kids and parents using kids as their turn can try to excuse do get shirt, ball, hat or Stagg programs signd

How about Larry going back to Southeast High School and make the Portage Trail  County Pointless. Then Mogadore can drop football and pickup bowling, and lacroose.  I might get some money for track

So Cortland is the "new" Rowan from the East.   Can't really call Mt. an eastern team except eastern ohio.   The  beast from the true East is Cortland this year.    Since their in NY that means massive linemen again.  Haven't seen a NY team with small linemen.   All hail the new Beast from the East   The Cortland State  Red Dragons!

Cortland the "new Beast from the East"??!?!?  Hardly.

True Cortland was in the driver's seat in the "East" region pretty much all of this season but  - until they faced two NEFC teams (the weakest overall conference in D3FB) - they had not won a single post-season game (NCAA or ECAC, our "east region" equivalent of a runner's up "bowl"/consolation game) since before 1999.

In fact, Cortland has only appeared in the NCAAs twice since b/f 1999 and the last time was a 23-22 loss to Hobart in 2005.

I am sorry, but I think you need to be win more games (regular and play-off) before you get the nick name earned by the Rowan Prof teams from back in the day.

I think 70s Raider has it pegged.  Micheli's 200+ passer rating vs. a weak Cortland secondary equals yet another run to the final four for MUC.  You guys will beat Cortland by the same margin as you did Hobart +/- 7.

TGP   Your probably correct but it is always nice to want for the good ol days with Rowan and KC,   Rowan was always a big game and the hype was usual high.
