Horace Jenkins just finished a summer league stint with the Pistons. He played somewhat well.
5 games, 92 minutes, 15-30 (FG-FGA), 4-8 (3FG-3FGA), 7-11 (FT-FTA), 3 rebounds, 14 assists, 4 steals, 12 turnovers, and averaging 8.2 points per game.

Rich Melzer struggled a little with the Wizards in Orlando, but he'll probably get another chance with them starting tomorrow in Las Vegas.
5 games, 51 minutes, 3-15, 1-4, 7-7,  8 rebs  1 assist  0 steals  4 turnovers  1 blocked shot  14 points

Knightstalker -

Great stuff in that article. Thanks for posting the link to it.

By the way, I think one of the NJAC teams may be visiting the confines of Mayser Center in Lancaster, PA to play Franklin And Marshall early in the season. Might be an interesting game. Hope you get a chance to see it.

But, since I moved, from Lancaster I may not get to see it on a week night this year. It will be real withdrawal for me going from 25 plus games each season to perhaps 15 games this year.

Regards.

I was at Mayser last year for the Sweet Sixteen when NJCU played Ahmerst.  Very nice place.

While we all know about former d3 players in the NBA, the question came up as to how many are playing professionally ANYWHERE.

Pat doesn't keep track, since there are SO MANY leagues, it would be a near impossibility.  But, collectively, posters could probably compile at least a fairly complete list.

If you know of a former player at your school, from your conference, or whatever, who is currently playing in Europe, South America, the CBA, or ANYWHERE, post it here!

Point Special

per the WIAC page:

Brant Bailey UWSP grad. signed with the Rockford Lightning Wednesday, setting up a potential game against Melzer this month if RM signs with Sioux Falls.

Mr. Ypsi

OK, Pat, I have a greater understanding of why you never tried to research this yourself.  I just dealt with the CBA website(s) - Gary Steelheads was not TOO bad (though I had to check each bio separately - no colleges listed on the roster), some team I've already forgotten blasted me out of my chair with 'music' (but DID list players' colleges - no d3, but had James Head from Eastern Michigan), and Great Lakes Storm, whose website crashed my computer.

I surrender in terms of looking it up - it is posters do it, or it won't get done!

PS, thanks, you're the only one so far, but I'd already caught that match-up (though I didn't remember WHO was the potential opponent for RM, and was FAR too lazy to re-check the WIAC board!

Eric Joldersma graduated from Bethel University (formelry Bethel College) in 99. He's been playing over in France's Pro B League ever since.  Last season was 5th in the league scoring at 20.6 pt/gm.

He played in the MIAC the same years as D. George from Augsburg.  Both were built about the same and had monster verticals.  Man were those games fun to watch.

Joldersma's one of my favorite stories from five years ago. As it was a poorly-kept secret that NBA scouts were following Devean George around from one MIAC gym to another, three or so MIAC room regulars (a couple of Bethel guys and a former Augsburg player, as I recall) began strongly suggesting that Joldersma, too, was going to go to The Show. Well, that was just plain nonsense, and I said as much in the MIAC room. While I could've been a little more diplomatic about it, you would've thought from their reaction that I had just spit in Joldersma's face. The vitriol in the MIAC room got very heated. They were very insistent that Joldersma was as sure a lock for an NBA uniform as was his rival Devean George.

While I wished Joldersma the best of luck when he signed with that French team, and I still wish him the best of luck, I hope that there aren't still any MIAC types who're holding their breath waiting for the NBA to come calling on him.

Does anyone know if Finn Rebasso (sp?) is plaing professionally, perhaps in Europe?  He was a senior on the Occidental College team that made a run in the playoffs two or three years ago.

Mr. Ypsi

If so, he must be playing in the Finnish league, ja??

Well, I can add two interesting players that have continued playing...Joe Smith(Hamilton '04) is playing over in Europe, Denmark I believe.  And Mike Crotty(Williams '04) is also traveling with the Globetrotters playing for the Generals.

Sciacguru (or anyone else), do you know if Oxy grad Finn Rebassoo (sp?) is playing pro ball somewhere?
