Peter Warren, #44 at VWC, will be joining the New York Nationals on November 1 for the 05/06 East Coast Tour

Warren Thompson

Recently graduated LVC player Steve Buzinski has just signed on with the Nationals.

Tim Flynn

It's great to see another LVC guy playing with the Nationals. I had the chance to see Pugh and the Nats play in Hershey back in February, and had a great time. Having never seen the Globetrotters in person before, I was surprised how much quality play really goes on.

In other LVC alum news, Andy Panko will play this coming season with Lagun Aro Bilbao of the Spanish La Liga, the top-flight basketball league there. He also spent last season in Spain playing with Caja San Fernando.

this happened a whiole back but, ormer Hornet Shawn Abell Signs Professional Baseball Contract with the Brockton Rox of the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball. http://www.lynchburg.edu/athletics/releases/bb366.htm

Pat Coleman

The Can-Am league is an independent league. It doesn't have players who are affiliated with major league clubs. Not sure where the Abell/San Diego Padres info came from, but there must be a mistake somewhere.

Abell's contract may have been Padres property at some time, but he was not assigned by them to an independent league.

I just read that Jenkins will be playing in Israel during the upcoming season.

I think we'd have to nominate the New Zealand Breakers as the official pro team of D3Hoops.  They have TWO former D-III All-Americans playing on the Australian Legue team.

Brant Bailey of UW-Stevens Point is #2 in scoring and Rich Melzer of UW-River Falls is #4 in scoring.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up since it has not been posted yet.  2004 -05 First team all conference NEAC player Wade Henninger, from Villa Julie, is playing pro ball in England for the Manchester Magic.  Seems to be doing very well, is one of the teams leading scorers so far this season.  Good luck Wade, and congrats to VJC for producing its first professional basketball player.

Hey Pat, did you know there is a duplicate board to this one in the "Who's the Best" section?  I mean its duplicate in name, not in content, but it covers the same stuff.  We probably don't need both.

Also, its good to hear about Henninger, I thought he had some talent yet to develop, I guess the British did too.  Although, I'm not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing to agree with the British when it comes to basketball?

Here's a random, specific question... Does anyone know if there are any former D3 players playing basketball in Kosovo?

(yes, there is a pro basketball league in Kosovo)

Ryan Scott (Hoops Fan)

I actually have some friends living in Kosovo, but I don't think they get out to too many games.
