#442
The story of the first half was Elmhurst's defense. Not just those two how-did-he-do-it? blocks that Dustin Bainter made on Kent Raymond fast-break layup attempts, but just an all-around suffocating MTM defense in the halfcourt. There were at least three occasions in which Wheaton didn't get off a shot until there were five seconds or less in the shot clock. And there's very little double-teaming going on, as Mark Scherer seems to have learned a less from Wheaton's exploitation of NCC double-teams last night.

Stats at the half:

Ruch, 9 pts
Strzemp, 8 pts
Burks, 7 pts

Raymond, 12 pts
Wiele, 6 pts
Panner, 5 pts

The 'jyas are shooting 48% from the field, while the Sonic Atmospheric Disturbance is shooting 42%.

EC leads on the boards, 17-14

WC's turned it over six times, EC three times.

WC hasn't shot a free throw yet; this flies in the face of the fact that Raymond has averaged over ten FTA vs. Elmhurst throughout his career. Elmhurst, however, has only gotten to the line three times itself.
