With a bit under six minutes to go, Westminster leads Elmhurst 54-48. Aaron Schroeder, who at 6'3 has been both one of Elmhurst's biggest and best players this year, has not appeared in this game.

Halftime in Decatur:

Aurora 44
Millikin 41

The Big Blue are shooting uncharacteristically well tonight, going 13-23 (.565) from the field and 14-15 (.933) from the charity stripe. As usual, they're eschewing the three-pointer (only four attempts, one of which went in). But Aurora's shooting well, too: 16-30 from the field (.533) and 7-8 from the line (.875), while knocking down five of nine three-point attempts that really spells the difference in this game.

Joscar Demby had a whale of a first half with 16 points and 7 rebounds.

Also, UWW leads Augie, 27-24, with 4:13 to go in the first half, and Benedictine leads NCC, 12-6, with 14:56 to go in the opening stanza.

Halftime in Whitewater, WI:

UWW 34
Augie 28

Not a pretty game by any stretch of the imagination -- in the last :35 alone there were five turnovers, a foul, two missed free throws, and a missed trey attempt -- but the Warhawks have managed to put some space between themselves and the Doggies after a back-and-forth first fifteen minutes or so.

UWW is almost as productive from the field as Augie, in spite of taking many fewer shots (UWW is 12-20 for 60%, while Augie is 13-34 for 38%), and the Warhawks have also done better from beyond the arc (2-4 to Augie's 0-6) and at the FT line (8-10 to Augie's 2-4). The visitors are winning both the rebounding battle, 15-14, and the turnover battle, 14-10.

Kyle Nelson was the only noteworthy individual for Augie in the first half, putting up 10 points and pulling down six boards.

Halftime in Naperville:

Benedictine 34
North Central 30

Aside from brief ties at 2-2 and 30-30, BU has led all the way. NCC has shot the ball much better (12-24 for 50% from the field to BU's 13-31 for 42% and 2-y from downtown as compared to BU's 3-14), but the Bennies are winning the battle of the boards, 17-15, and have four fewer turnovers than the Cards, which is why BU has been able to get off several more shots than the hosts.

Derek Raridon has nine points and David Twyman has eight for the Cards.

Aurora has led from wire to wire thus far tonight, but the Spartans are now clinging to a one-point lead. It's AU 62, MU 61, halfway thru the second half.

UWW is still keeping pace ahead of Augie -- 48-44, with 13:00 left.
