Manchester leads  Wheaton, 69-56, with four minutes to go.

The Manchester radio guys are pretty silly.

Silly?

Yes, silly.

MC center Spindler blocks a shot by Wheaton's Tim McCrary. After five or six seconds of screaming by both announcers, we hear, "You can huff, and you can puff, but Spindler's gonna blow your house down, little piggy!"

Spartans lead Wheaton, 70-56, with 2:59 left.

On a similar note, I was listening to the Score on the way home from work today and they were talking about the Bear game on Thursday...  Whenever one of the guys mentioned the name of Miami's starting QB (Thigpen), they played this, again and again...

FINAL

Manchester 78
Wheaton 60

According to the Wacky Bros. on the radio call, Wheaton was up at the half (I didn't tune in until the waning minutes of the game).

Carthage leads CCSJ at the half, 29-18. The Red Men are shooting like horse dookie (less than 33% from the field), but CCSJ has turned the ball over 14 times already. Pierce has 8 to lead Carthage, while Thompson has 7. Steve D. could be on his way to another triple-double: he's at 4-6-5 after twenty minutes.

The Red Men have blown it wide open. It's 54-26, with 9:20 remaining.

Augie is up by 5 at the half after leading by 14 midway through the first 20 minutes. Augie is joining the other CCIW teams in a lackluster start to the season. Multiple turnovers, numerous fouls by the Augie big men and poor passing by the Vikings against a marginally talented Simpson team that lost it's two top scorers from last year. It does not sound pretty, but we all have to get these first games of the season out of our system.

It's now 70-32, Red Men, with four and a half minutes left.

Man, they can't end this Carthage game fast enough. It's embarrassing.

Augie looking a little more focused and is now up by 17 with 13 minutes to go.

BlueJay21

Elmhurst 63
Cornell 63

This one is headed to overtime.

What has surprised me the most about this game is that Fendley and Crane didn't start for Elmhurst.
