I'd like to play.  I choose the Rhode Island College Anchormen.

I'll take Williams ...

Hey bport, why are S. Harris and another player out for the first five games?

Washington University. Going out on a limb there, I know.

It's at least a little bit of a limb, DCHN. The Bears have to play preseason #5 Augustana on November 24, and then face a pretty solid UW-Platteville team the next night, so there's at least a reasonable chance that you'll be out of this contest by the time December rolls around.

See? You're braver than you thought. ;)

Washington will also most likely play @#17 Calvin on Saturday

I can't answer as to the other player, but Harris is sitting out the fall semester because he has only one semester of eligibility remaining.  http://www.d3hoops.com/notables.php?item=1835

That occurred to me as well after I'd posted about Augie and UWP, and I should also add that to get to Calvin on Saturday the Bears will first have to polish off a pretty decent Ohio Northern team on Friday.

will also most likely

lol.  :D

Slappy's apparently holding out a tiny bit in the event that Grace Bible somehow pulls an Appalachian State against Calvin on Friday night. :D

I was also thinking about the Kentucky v. Gardner Webb game when I posted that.  I would expect Washington to handle Ohio Northern and Calvin to destroy Grace but stranger things have happened.

The post was actually more about the Washington v. Ohio Northern game not the Calvin v. Grace game.

Of course you were. But it's more fun to use "pulls an Appalachian State" than "pulls a Gardner-Webb" when you're trying to tweak a Michigander. ;)

Well I'm out.  NJCU loses in the opening round of the Scotty Wood tournament at Muhlenberg today.  I should have known better, they never win the opening games of a tip off tournament.

I'll update the survivor table sometime this week.  I have games tonight (in Point), Tuesday (Carroll College) and possibly Wednesday (Oshkosh's opener at St. Norb's).

It's ok; half of us have lost already because we tried to live on the edge and not pick Amherst.

I know we don't start counting undefeated and only-defeateds until January, but I'd like to point out that Eastern Nazarene already has a win.  Thank God Mitchell thought they were bad enough to schedule!
