I was going to say I am very familiar with the many small Penn States, but had never heard of Penn State Brandywine, now that you called it AKA DelCo, it makes much more sense to me.

2 points: 1) Even in the two years when Williams was national champ and  national champion runnerup, it had great difficulty with winning at Amherst.  2) If we are going to call the New England states and nothing more the northeast, then why don't we merely call them the New England states, reduce the confusion,  and leave it at that.

More on Williams at Amherst: In 2002-03 (Williams' national championship year) it was 1-1 at Amherst; in 2003-04 (Williams' runnerup year) it was 0-1 at Amherst. I'll let you wizards with the crystal ball predict this coming Saturday's outcome of Williams at Amherst.

Frank - If only the NCAA called it the "New England" region. I get confused with East, Atlantic and Mid-Atlantic all the time.

It's easy.  'East' is anything east of the Rockies, 'Atlantic' is the Jersey Shore, and 'Mid-Atlantic' is, like, Newfoundland and the Azores and places like that. ;D

I used to live in St. Louis, which was cool.  Everyone in the 'west' considered St. Louis to be in the 'east', while those in the 'east' thought it was in the 'west.'  'Northerners' thought StL was in the 'south,' and 'southerners' placed it in the 'north.'  Even 'midwesterners' couldn't agree on whether St. Louis was in the 'west' (to an Ohioan), 'east' (to a Kansan), or 'midwest' (to an Illinoisan.)  But we always knew where we were: in St. Louis, a fine place to be. :)

I always put St. Louis in Missouri..........call me crazy!  :-\

Wags in St. Louis have long claimed that St. Louis has midwestern charm and southern industriousness.

Midwestern charm, and southern humidity.......definately!

While it is called the northeast, I am fairly certain it does not encompass anything outside of New England, i.e. Maine, NH, VT, Mass, RI and CT. So i guess you could call it whatever makes you happy and less confused.

frank uible

Google "northeast definition". It is what other people call it, which is confusing.

The NCAA refers to the region as the Northeast, so I think that makes it acceptable terminology here.

Olivet beats Anderson to drop off the winless vs D3 list!!!!
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Pat: I don't recommend that anyone pattern his life after the NCAA in any respect.

Given the schedule for this week, it is entirely possible that we could go from 6 unbeatens to 1 or none. These teams all have VERY tough games this week. Kudos to all who survive...

Geneseo/Rochester both in Chase Tournament, only one can go unbeaten thru it. In theory, both could lose.

Mass-Dart is at 9-1 Salem State tonight

Coast Guard is at 9-3 WPI on Wednesday

Emerson is at Lasell (which beat WPI, played Amherst tough) on Saturday, also has defending league champ Rivier.

And Williams has Amherst on Saturday.
