Mr. Ypsi

What the heck - I'll be a homer, too!  IWU

(I'm probably dead by Dec. 6 when they play at WashU, but IF they survive that, and a home date against Chicago on the 19th, they should be good 'til CCIW play in January.)

What are the odds they go unbeaten?  :D ;)

"About one in a million."

"Oh, so you're saying they have a chance."

Assuming April doesn't have Wheaton, I'll take them. Otherwise I'll take Gettysburg.

Once a team is taken, doesn't mean you can't have that team as well...If you want Wheaton, go ahead, even if April takes Wheaton too.

Reflecting my bias, I will take Wooster :)    ....even though they face #7 UW-Platteville, a likely matchup with #14 Randolph Macon in a tournament championship game and a D2 school (Hawaii-Hilo) on the road during their first 5 weeks of the season. ::)

GO SCOTS!

I'll take a chance on a longshot and go with Cortland State. They face a tough Ithaca team right off the bat, and then play 4 straight road games but they should be the best team in the SUNYAC conference this year.

Truly a noble choice, immediately before the Cortaca Jug! ;)

Hey its tough to pick against your "home" team!  :)
We are already rooting for them...why not make it a bit more interesting

I'll take Centre...  even though they LOST their first game last year...

I'm assuming this Saturday, the 15th, is the unofficial start of the new season, so...

I thought real games started the following week?

I saw that MIAC, WIAC, CCIW, MWC and NathCon regular season games start this week.  I have all those conferences bookmarked, so I would assume the rest of the nation, as a whole, also starts this week...

Nothing unofficial about it, Tom.

11/15 is now, and forever will be (until the rules change again), the first day of the D3 basketball season. No more guessing which Friday night the season starts as in the past, from here on out it will be the 15th regardless of the day of the week.

Wash St L Bears!

I don't think it'll happen, but I hope that you're the first one out of the contest, Ralph. No offense. ;)

Think again, O Wizard of Washtenaw County! Take a good look at the three other teams in that Northwood (FL) tournament in which your Titans will be participating on Dec. 29 and 30.

Risky. The Colonels will open the season at Franklin on Saturday, and the Grizzlies are supposed to be pretty good this year. Then on Tuesday the Colonels are at Maryville (TN), and Murvul is always a very tough place to earn a road win.

As for me, I'm gonna roll the dice and take St. Mary's (MD).

While I'm way too stubborn to cede D3 superiority to you (despite all evidence to the contrary ;)), I'll readily yield on other classifications.  I took a look at the other teams, recognized none of them, and figured we're cool.  I take it one or more of them is a D2 or NAIA-1 powerhouse?

I expect we'll go down in St. Louie on the 6th (but we've surprised them before), and will be the underdogs against Chicago on the 19th (but, hey, the only IWU game I've seen in 39 years was a WIN over Chicago ;D), so I'll stick with the Titans surviving until the CCIW starts. ;)
