Crown lost by 12 to Finlandia.

Can anyone make sense of this writeup??

Most times the word 'Storm' has been used in a non-weather related story?  (11 times)

Here's a look with prognosis...

Unbeaten

St. Thomas -- 2/2 St. Mary's MN (W), 2/7 at Carleton

Prognosis - 5 games left. Toughest is at Carleton. Also play at home against Bethel. Those two have an outside shot of taking them out, but it's a good chance the Tommies will go undefeated in the regular season.

Unbeaten vs. D3

Puget Sound -- 2/3 Pac Lutheran (W), 2/7 George Fox

Prognosis - Pencil in 2/13 vs. Whitworth. That seems to be the best chance to take out the Loggers, though they beat Whitworth by 12 on the road.

Winless

Macalester -- 2/2 at St. Johns'(L), 2/4 Gustavus Adolphus(L), 2/7 vs Augsburg

Prognosis - 4 games left. Two against top half MIAC teams. Best chance is their last game, where they play host to St. Olaf. They only lost 76-70 to the Oles on the road.

Crown -- 2/6 at Martin Luther, 2/7 at Bethany Lutheran

Prognosis - A mess. Their 12-point loss at Finlandia was their closest game of the season. They do play host to 3-15 Northland on Valentine's day (what a treat for your sweetie, eh?) but Northland beat them by 20 earlier. When a 3-15 team whops you by 20, then you're not good.

Medgar Evers -- 2/4 at Brookyn (L), 2/6 York NY

Prognosis - Is there hope for the Cougars? They've had two straight close losses. Of course, their upcoming pillow fight vs. CCNY is promising, but they play 5-17 John Jay before that game. At all else, they close the season against Pratt.

Bard -- 2/4 Farmingdale State (L), 2/7 at Old Westbury

Prognosis - The SKY isn't brimming with hoops powers. But they haven't been competitive even against the lower echelon of the conference. They do play Polytechnic, whose only on court win was against Bard. The bad news for Bard is that Poly beat them by 19. Oops.

CCNY -- 2/4 at Baruch, 2/7 John Jay - I was a bit excited when I saw they won according to their schedule here. But nope, I checked the Baruch web site. Baruch 79, CCNY 50.

Prognosis - Aside from Medgar Evers, John Jay and Hunter give them a punchers chance of winning, maybe.

Winless vs. D3

Principia -- 2/3 Fontbonne (L), 2/7 Eureka

Prognosis - They do play MacMurray and Blackburn again this year, the other weak sisters of the SLIAC. But they lost by 19 at home to MacMurray. The best chance is the home game against Blackburn.

Philadelphia Bible -- 2/3 at Baptist Bible (L), 2/5 at Neumann, 2/7 Marywood

Prognosis - They seem to be outclassed by the rest of the CSAC this year. They do have games against Centenary, Neumann and a return match vs. Baptist Bible, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Better luck next year:
Clermont -- lost all 3 D3 games this year
Maine-Presque Isle -- finished D3 season 0-5

And down the stretch they come...

Unbeaten

St. Thomas -- 2/11 at Bethel, 2/14 Gustavus Adolphus

Unbeaten vs. D3

Puget Sound -- 2/13 Whitworth, 2/14 Whitman

Winless

Macalester -- 2/11 at Concordia-Moorhead, 2/14 at Carleton
Crown -- 2/10 at North Central MN, 2/13 St. Scholastica, 2/14 Northland
Medgar Evers -- 2/11 John Jay, 2/13 at CCNY
Bard -- 2/12 Mount St. Mary, 2/14 at Polytechnic

Winless vs. D3

Principia -- 2/11 at MacMurray, 2/14 at Lincoln Christian
Philadelphia Bible -- 2/10 at Keystone, 2/12 Gwynedd-Mercy, 2/14 Baptist Bible
Clermont -- lost all 3 D3 games this year
Maine-Presque Isle -- finished D3 season 0-5

If Medgar Evers beats John Jay does John Jay get some sort of booby prize??

St. Thomas avoids an upset - coming back at home to beat Bethel 75-72. Three games against middling or worse MIAC teams remain, so odds are they'll go into the MIAC tourney unbeaten.

The Star-Tribune has Concordia knocking off Macalester 78-60. Two games left, but one is at home against St. Olaf, which is winnable.

Crown got pounded 89-49 by Northwestern. Two Storm players missed the game for some reason, adding injury to insult?

Alas, John Jay escaped the booby prize by beating Medgar Evers 59-58. Fear not, Cougars, the pillow fight against CCNY is upcoming.

Principia dropped one to MacMurray 108-85.

Philly Bible got waxed by Keystone 79-41.

Updates:

St. Thomas wins 72-59.

UPS beats Whitworth and Whitman this whit...weekend.

Macalester loses to Carelton, but its just 64-56 on the road. St. Olaf is their last chance. The Oles broke a 7 games losing streak at home against St. Mary's.

Crown drops two more, with similar scores. 85-53 to St. Scholastica and 86-50 to Northland, at home. Northland was probably their one chance, as two of the five Northland wins have come against Crown.

According to Google maps, it's only about a 1 hour drive between Crown and Macalester (and pretty easy, too, if you don't go during rush hour). So let's get them a game!

Medgar Evers loses 84-68 to CCNY. Now they have Pratt left on their schedule, so that's hopefully a win (though not vs. D-3). Break up the Beavers, who have now won 2 of 3!

Bard lost just 70-62 to Mt. St. Mary and the Raptors' web site says they have fallen to Polytechnic 78-67. Alas, poor Raptors.

Principia lost to non D-3 Lincoln Christian 93-72. Still looking forward to the battle with the Blackburn Beavers.

Philly Bible lost to Baptist Bible 89-71.

LogShow

UPS has two conference games remaining before the NWC tournament.  Both are on the road, at Pacific (OR) and at Willamette.

All of the remaining regular season games are listed.

Unbeaten

St. Thomas -- 2/18 St. John's, 2/21 Hamline

Unbeaten vs. D3

Puget Sound -- 2/20 at Pacific, 2/21 at Willamette

Winless

Macalester -- 2/18 at St. Olaf
Crown -- 2/20 Presentation, 2/21 Minn-Morris
Medgar Evers -- 2/16 at Pratt
Bard -- 2/16 Wesleyan, 2/18 at Maritime, 2/19 Rivier, 2/22 Yeshiva

Winless vs. D3

Principia -- 2/18 at Westminster MO, 2/21 Blackburn, 2/24 at Webster
Philadelphia Bible -- 2/16 at Cabrini, 2/19 Centenary
Clermont -- lost all 3 D3 games this year
Maine-Presque Isle -- finished D3 season 0-5

Coach C

Philly Bible continues its D3 futility tonight, losing to Cabrini.

I don't think we've had so many winless or winless vs. D-3 in a season in quite a while.

Bard was thumped by Wesleyan 92-67. No surprise there, even with Wesleyan sucking wind in the NESCAC.

Medgar Evers' website says the game against Pratt is on the 18th.

Poor Howard. At least baseball season is right around the corner, so he's probably moved on from another year of mourning the woeful state of his Raptors.

In 2004 they were 11-13. That must be the high point in a long time. I clicked around their site and in the 90's they usually beat Webb or Pratt but that was it...
