Caltech gave Fontbonne a pretty good game last night, but lost 68-60.   Caltech has a player, Mike Edwards, who scored 30 of their 60 points, on 26 FG attempts(over half of the team's attempts).  And it wasn't a one time thing - he's averaging 24 ppg.   The kid is a 6'7" FROSH, who very well could change the fortunes of Caltech hoops if he stays with it.

Incidently - I actually checked out the undefeated and winless after last weekend - we were in the upper 60s in number in both catagories!!!   I very well may print out a list in the next week

Wow, just think, in a lab at CalTech, he could replicate himself and take over the SCIAC and / or rule the world.

John Carroll downs Wooster 71-63. Tied at 60 with 2:21 to go JC goes on 11-3 run to close out the Scots. Mr. Y survives a close one.

Rochester over Scranton 75-61. Yellowjackets calm hopefan's worries, winning by more than 10.

Wooster was my scary game.  While Wilmington is 5-1, I suspect they are well below JCU.  I doubt that JCU will run the table (that is vanishingly rare in d3), but I think they will be favored in every game the rest of the season.  I can live with that. :D

Both my backup teams remain undefeated.  Don't worry; I'll only make noise about it if they're still undefeated when the last official team goes down.

The Choctaws hit 9 of 12 3FG's in the first half!  It was unreal!  They even hit a 30 footer fall away at the final buzzer to stretch the final margin to 11.

They are about 16 players deep.  They are incredibly athletic.

I don't see them being contested until their game at UMHB in January.

TGHIJGSTO!!!

Mr. Ypsi

While it ain't gonna happen, theoretically 7 people could go into the playoffs still alive, since there are only 3 head-to-head match-ups left: 12-29 sees St. Thomas (smedindy) vs. UWSP (Point Special); on 1-9 there is Williams (nescac1) vs. Amherst (Old School), and on 1-29 Rochester (hopefan) takes on WashU (Patrick Abegg).

None of the rest of us faces a selected team, which (alas) doesn't mean we won't lose! :(

Rochester falls from the unbeaten ranks dropping a 63-58 decision to local rival RIT Wed. night. hopefan says goodnight.

John Carroll, St. Thomas, Guilford, and Stevens Point all win easily.

hopefan

My old rival RIT with its cement factory gymnasium (does that thing still exist?) does me in  -  and I thought I was good until the end of January - Mike Neer, I'll not forgive you!!!! ;D ;D ;D

While the list is long, anybody care to have a 'winless survivor' contest to rival the other survivor pool...????

A number of old buddy winless teams out there such as Maine Presque Isle, Caltech, Crown, Bard, Caz...... :-[ :-[ :-[

The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

I'll take Crown.  It's risky because they play a TON of pretty terrible teams!
