I'll go with my alma mater - Eastern Nazarene College.  They have no size or depth and they can't play defense.  Sounds like a winner to me.

Mr. Ypsi

I'm sure they won't win (er ... lose ???), but just for the sake of my favorite sad-sack, I'll take UMPI.

Sorry Tom, #13 Amherst bites the dust 88-79 as #20 Elms takes them down.

Elms had 45 free throws and made 32. Amherst had 13 attempts and made 7. Home court advantage??

19 of those 45 were in the last 2:50 when Amherst was fouling to try to get back in the game.  In reality the FT disparity was a lot more reasonable: 26-13.  Still in favor of Elms but not nearly as bad as the initial numbers looked.

Two starters for Amherst also didnt play most of the game: David Waller only played 8 minutes and Kurt Bennett only played 5 minutes.  There is no mention of them in the game write-up, but Waller, especially, is usually a big part of the Amherst attack.

Amherst, Wheaton(Ill), and Skidmore all lost Friday night.

Fredonia St. finally got a win beating Buffalo St. Friday night.

I'm sure they will win because they won't win so I'll take Caltech. ;D

hopefan

I'd better get in this -  I'll take a little Raptormania with Bard

hopefan,

Paul Smith's did win a game this year already, but it may be the only one they will win and it was against a 2 yr. school called Word of Life Bible Institute. They played Word of Life on Nov. 15th and lost 91-79 but came back to win against them 2 days later on the 17th 73-66. Paul Smith's rooster shows them with 10 players but I read last week that they only have 6 or 7 guys on the team. Our local 2 year school Clinton Community College beat them on Tuesday night 74-59. Paul Smith's has been a 2 year school for most of their existence but just recently(within the past 3 years, I believe) became a 4 year school and joined NAIA II. I don't think they will beat any 4 year school this year. However they do get to play the UMaine-Presque Isle Owls twice this year but I'd bet on the Owls. Sorry Mr. Ypsi but I think you'll have 2 wins there.

Apollos (Paul) Smith was born in 1825 in Milton, Vermont and became well known as a hotelier in the Adirondacks. The following link briefly tells his story:

The question is, can the New Jersey Nets win a game before Cal Tech this year?

Yes:

I have always had a soft spot for Caltech. The Beavers have won one game each of the last three seasons (Bard, Gallaudet, Polytechnic), and I think that I may be the only person besides a player or a coach to have seen all three victories. I try to pick out the game(s) I think Caltech has the best chance of winning so I can be there if it happens. This season I see possible wins against Rivier and Westminster on the schedule, but if Sager's worried about North Park maybe I'll go see that game, too. Of course, I really want to be at the game when CIT finally breaks its SCIAC losing streak which I believe now stands at 287 straight losses dating back to 1985, just as long as they don't do it against Oxy.

I may be the next one to take a seat as Virginia Wesleyan leads my Quakers 36-33 at the half. Will be sweating this one out.

Live stats are all screwed up as they show Virginia Wesleyan players having scored 83 points to Guilford's 33 pts.

magicman

I will take a seat next to Old School as Guilford drops a 71-68 decision to Virginia Wesleyan. I might qualify for most improved award though as I lasted for 3 weeks this year. Last year I was the 1st one out.

Mr. Ypsi survives to fight another day as John Carroll drops Muskingum 76-66.
